Teen Titans: Robin

Awesome Development and Growth
I am absolutely in love with Gabriel Picolo's art and Kami Garcia's story telling. I've been following the story from the first graphic novel, "Teen Titans, Raven". Just like the last 3 novels, I couldn't put this down until I read it all! This is the first novel I feel like you need to have read the one before, "Teen Titans, Beast Boy Loves Raven" it to completely understand the story. I love the brotherly conflict between Dick and Damian (they've always been my favorite Robins). This novel adds onto all of the events of the past novels, and it gives my favorite heros some awesome new stories, personal struggles, and heart. I can't wait to see Starfire joining the group, hopefully in the next novel.(My only disappointment is that there are not LGBTQ representation, but clearly this story is absolutely wonderful despite that. I only wish that there was some representation because I love connecting with my favorite characters in that way.)

I love the art and story, it was so worth it 💕
Everything about the book is amazing, I wish it wasn't damaged since I try to keep it in good condition when it came to the previous books, I'm sure it was tossed around since my other ones never had so much imperfections as this one did. I'll probably keep it and just re purchase later when it's in a bundle. I'm just disappointed in Amazon or the seller for sending it in this condition, Its probably a small thing for other but it still bugs me. I don't want to send it back since it would suck if it went in a landfill considering how much I admire this series along with the artist and writer. They really are amazing and I wish to one day be able to draw something this beautiful 🫶🏽

Amazing Illustration Style, Outdated Fashion
The illusion is beautiful and I love this series, seeing the team all together in the robin book this has been my favorite one but the fashion sense for these characters is so inaccurate and takes me right out of the story. I can't stand the corny t-shirts and style of these characters. It feels dated like how a millennial would dress and not a gen z teenager and it seems like it isn't a big deal but it is. It makes it hard to see myself in these characters and makes them feel far less relatable. Great story great characters but they need a serious wardrobe update, the teen titans would never dress like that and neither would a modern day teenager

A gearshift in the overall series
The story is more about the teens training and learning to control their powers and Dick showing up to help them do that (along with other assistance helping with the training) and to connect as a brother with Damian. The bonding between Damian and Dick is fine as the two bond through combative training rather than talking things out--which suits the overall genre of a graphic novel rather well for some decent visual images. The story itself overall ties up a few loose ends left dangling from the three previous graphic novels, while setting up the future direction of the graphic novel series to come. Consider this a gear shift novel between what the previous three novels had each set up, and what is to come. While it can be read separately from the rest just fine, it's most impactful after reading the previous three graphic novels and I would highly suggest doing so, or at the very least reading Beast Boy Loves Raven prior to this one.

gabriel picolo at his finest
i nearly cried tears of joy when i got my package. the art is, as always, an absolute treat (but one doesn't expect anything less than perfect from gabriel picolo) and the dialogue is quick and enjoyable.lovely addition to my shelf.
