More Twists and Revelations as This Great Trilogy Ends
It's been three months since Jack left May and Phillip. During this time, he's been training to serve his new master. Meanwhile, Phillip is in his country with Penelope (aka Sleeping Beauty) wishing for adventure. And May has taken her place with her evil step-mother and step-sisters.But plans are in motion for one final showdown with the Evil Queen. And there is still the prophecy that one of the guys will betray May and the other will die. Will any of them be able to win the freedom of the people in their realm? This is an intricately plotted series, and part of me wishes I could have read them back to back. Still, once I got into the story, I remembered the important things that had happened before. However, if you haven't read the series to date, don't start here. Begin at the beginning. It will totally be worth your time. The characters are great as always, and they really do show quite a bit of growth not only in the course of the series but specifically in this book. The story moves along quickly as we often jump between one of the three main characters. I never wanted to put the book down. While this is the climax of the story, so it's a bit more serious, it does still have some of the humor that have made the previous books sparkle as well. And it does wrap everything up quite well.In other words, this is a delightful entry in the alternative fairy tale genre. Kids or anyone who loves seeing a new take on their favorite characters will enjoy this series.

This book is like a homemade chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven, but made of paper and everything. It’s BRILLIANT, in a word, along with the other 2 books. If you haven’t read this, read it now. Do it. I LOVE this book SO MUCH and same with all of James Riley’s books. Go read those too.TL;DR: Amazing book, amazing characters, amazing everything. Read it.

Great ending to a magical trilogy!
"Living a fairy tale sounded good, until you realized you were only getting the bad parts, and all the fairy godmothers and happily ever afters weren't coming."At the beginning of this final book in the Half Upon a Time series, we find our three heroes separated and trying to avoid the Mirror's prophecy that one of the boys would die and the other would betray May. Jack is training to be a guard for the Evil Queen (known as an Eye). May is living with her stepmother and two stepsisters. And Philip is living in his castle with his mom and Penelope (Sleeping Beauty). To explain the places where this story takes us would be to give away some of the surprising twists and turns. I would never want to do that. I'd hate to take away the fun of discovering them on your own. Let's just say you will meet even more fairy-tale characters, including the Sandman, Beauty & the Beast and Leprechauns. You even find out the origins of the Grimm Fairy Tale stories. And, of course, Jack's true identity is finally revealed. The great thing about this series is, it only gets better with each book. And every book surprised me with unexpected revelations. I loved every minute!!Recommended toYoung Readers to adults. Anyone who enjoys fairy tales and adventures.

Imaginative, Creative, Clever
We bought this trilogy to begin reading to my daughter as a bedtime story. We ended up spending hours at night reading just to find out what would happen next. Jack's not what you think of when you imagine fairytale heros, but it's easy to identify with his character as he uses his head. I feel like I saw references to Inception, Top Gun, Back to the Future, and just about every fairy tale ever told. The way James Riley was able to weave all of these stories together still blows my mind. Hints placed throughout the two books prior and this book ultimately allude to the big picture, but the execution of wrapping all of the stories up at once leaves you with a warm feeling, and a mantra that rings true for life in the real world. Although things may not always work out exactly as planned and you won't always win, if you learn to use your head and focus on what's truly important in life, things will ultimately work out.

Hillarious, I LOVED it
(Q0Q)This was my face when I saw that this book. I had gotton Half Upon a Time in paperback, but immediately wanted the sequel, so I downloaded it as quickly as Icould and devoured it. By the time I was done with number 2, I desperately wanted the third. Luckily for me, It had been published only a week before, and I got it on. I loved it, and definently would recommend it too others. The artwork on the covers were great, it had a great sense of humor. What really was signifigant about this book is that I can think that this was a good title for it. There are go many twice upon a times and thrice upon a times that it gets really confusing and old. But not this book. It's great, and probably deserves a six star rating.

The end of an amazing series
I first came along these books when I was looking for book suggestions. I saw these books and thought they looked interesting. I immediately fell in love with the books and teared through them enjoying the wild adventures may and jack had. The conclusion of these books was one i would never forget. Jack and May gone on separate paths gone to their destinies feel strange without each other. Jack,as an eye joining his sister will learn a lot more about his family and May is taking on her role as Cinderella, really not enjoying her time but soon meets up with Phillip. Find out what happens in this beautiful triquel to a series you will never forget

awsome sauce
I like this book but I feel it doesen't have as much drama/action as the last books in the series. But I still love the how it was wrote and the plot, and I think you will feel sad when the journey with character come to an end. I would recommend this to 7-12 because it does have some scenes where the character bleeds occasionally. But I still think people will enjoy this book.

My son enjoyed it
As the mother of this son, I like to force feed knowledge into my little child's head, luckily with this book, not only did he learn new words, he also enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this book if the first books of the series were read.
