TYC 800038P Toyota/Pontiac Replacement Cabin Air Filter

Hmmm, pay $30 for a piece of cardboard with paper waffle, or pay $8 for the same thing? I am not sure why some air filter manufacturers insist on charging so much for the small square of framed paper that is your cabin air filter. This one fit my 2006 Toyota Tacoma perfectly, was well manufactured (plastic frame instead of cardboard - nice!), and installed in less than a minute. Installation in the Tacoma is easy - and the filter comes with instructions (there are also a couple of YouTube How To videos out there).Here's what it took to install on my Tacoma:1. Lowered my glove box and emptied it.2. Detached the glove box extension arm by pulling it off the box.3. Continued lowering the glove box and pulled it off its hinge arms.4. Opened the black filter access door (hinged downward with 2 snaps).5. Pulled out the old filter, and put in the new filter (made sure the flow arrow was the right way - on this brand of filter I noticed the arrow is an "UP" arrow, instead of a "Flow Direction" arrow that points downward)6. Reversed the process to close everything back up.This is a great deal on a good product. I plan on ordering a case of these since they need to be changed once or twice a year.

Inexpensive filter that will not break down quick like the junk orange box ones. the fit in my Toyota Tacoma and Pontiac was spot on.

2014 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. If you have a Tacoma, you know these things need to be swapped out every oil change. The air intake pulls a poop ton of debris into the cab and this filter stops it from jamming up the blower fan. I buy 3 to 4 at a time and swap them out every oil change. Cheap and easy. Fit is perfect and they do what they're supposed to do - filter the air coming into the cab.

Mine somehow got all kinds of leaves in it (fixed that too) and was SO DIRTY!This fit right in no problem and after putting in my new blower motor there was a lot of a dust coming into my eye from the vents. This solved it with a flick of the plastic cover, one swipe out and stick the other one in. Problem solved after 2 minutes of running the fan afterwards.

Ordered this from Amazon awhile back - the price, around $8.50 each when I purchased, was way better than I could find from other suppliers. Actually, I could find the filter for less from some online auto parts places but once I factored in shipping Amazon had the best deal. I ended up buying two (each) Air and Cabin filters so my order total was just over the $25 which qualified for the free shipping. The only negative - it did take quite awhile for the order to process and for it to be shipped. Not sure why it took so long? After getting it I would recommend it to anyone - it's a great product. It fit perfect in my 2003 Pontiac Vibe (Base) - very easy to install. Took about 5 minutes to swap it. Glad I did because the old one was nasty!It's worth noting - Be careful when you replace it - the filter has an Arrow on it and according to the directions it's opposite of how you think it should go in. I've read if you put it in upside down it will smell bad... No bad smells for my car so I must have done it right.Anyway, by doing it myself I saved quite a bit. Local suppliers wanted about $30 - 40 just for the filter. The quick lube shop wanted to charge $60.00 for the filter and labor. No thanks, do it yourself!

When I last had my oil change, the technician pulled my cabin air filter out and showed it to me. It was dingy gray and had bits of leaves and debris on it. Nasty! I know it had only been two years since I replaced it, but I wasn't going to spend the $24.95 they wanted for a new filter. I came back to Amazon and reordered one of these filters. The first one I ordered was a perfect fit and so was this one. MUCH cheaper than dealer or quick-lube prices. Installation is a snap too. On my Pontiac Vibe, you just remove the glove box door and there's a little door on the blower motor. Pull it down and pull out the old filter. Install the new filter and reinstall the glove box door. Takes about 90 seconds.

I bought TYC cabin air filters for 3 cars and all 3 fit perfectly. The pleats for the '06 Mazda 5 and the '04 Pontiac Vibe are nice and tight, but the ones for the '04 Toyota Prius are more like gentle waves instead of zig-zigs. So it appears the quality of their filters depends on the particular filter. On the other hand, for cabin air filters, it probably doesn't matter much what their surface areas or pore sizes are. The filter on the Vibe was a breeze to replace.

I bought this for my 2012 Tacoma. It is virtually the same as the factory Toyota filter. The arrow shows "this side up". That is not the air flow direction, it means this side up! The air flow is the opposite direction. My factory filter had the same this side up arrow. It was pointed up from the factory. I have never seen any air filter labeled like that, but you need to put it in that way. Great price compared to the stealership!

This filter is more than adequate as a replacement for the OEM filters the dealers sell...and you can replace them more often if you like!
