Update: changed from 4 stars to 5 stars. I have been using everyday, all day, for a couple weeks, and I love this large water filter. I drink over a gallon of water a day so I do have to fill it every day but, it is so simple. Using both hands placed on the front and back handles at the top of the container, I hold on tightly, pull it out of the fridge slowly, place it on the countertop next to the sink, and pull my faucet head/hose out, and fill it that way. Super simple and convenient. (It does get slightly heavy when it's completely full, so I would not let children or someone with arthritic hands, do this) It's holding up great, and the water tastes fantastic! Great buy!!! Honestly I have to say I haven't used this yet, but I did open the package and after reading reviews before purchasing, I now am definitely concerned about durability. I researched forever and the best options budget wise and filter wise for me, who drinks a gallon of water a day by myself, on South FL city water, was this Brita water filter, 27 cup container, with the Elite filter. I did call Brita customer service because I explained that although I wanted to go with their filter because it was the best filtration for my budget, with how much I drink everyday, I was concerned about the durability of the container after reading all the reviews that it cracks and breaks easily. Obviously I would be refilling it daily. They assured me that there is a one-year warranty and if it did crack or break for any reason that I could inform them and it would be replaced. SO THAT IS WHAT I AM BANKING ON BECAUSE I AM SURE, AGAIN, AFTER READING ALL THE REVIEWS, IT WILL EVENTUALLY CRACK.... ESPECIALLY AFTER TAKING A CAREFUL LOOK AT IT AFTER RECEIVING. I've used Brita filters before and have always had great water from them so I am sure unless I have any problems with a cracked container and getting it replaced, if it does crack, I can confidently rate this with four stars... Only because there are better filters out there, but they are definitely not budget friendly.

This is a great filter system for my small kitchen and fridge. It holds A LOT! It does take a while to filter so filling takes a bit of time but I love having good tasting water cold and ready to dispense without taking a jug out. Slim, fits in my fridge nicely. Does exactly what it says it should. 100% recommend.

This dispenser is much bigger that it looks. We had a different brand for several years that can not compare to the Brita. The water filters and fills the pitcher fast, and the water tastes better. We like cold water and it's slim design fits in our fridge well.

The Brita water pitcher is a great investment if you want clean, filtered water at home without constantly buying bottled water. So, my son bought this dispenser to put inside the fridge so we could do away with buying plastic bottles. The first shipment came defective so he had to request for a replacement. The replacement dispenser came and it worked perfectly in our fridge. It's big and holds a lot of water and the dispenser is convenient to just go in with a cup/glass and dispense the water. Unfortunately later on, the dispenser started to leak with drips. I read that it may be how you placed the filter and such so I made sure to place the filter correctly as it was instructed and thought that was the fix. But the drips continued sporadically. I had to place a cloth towel on the inside floor of the fridge because the water was pooling up and it was also dripping onto the drawers in my fridge. I contacted Brita and they were very nice about it. They had no replacements but said they would send me a check for the amount so I could go and buy another one. So this is the 3rd replacement for this water dispenser. I don't know if this is just a freaky thing that happened with the drip but I'm praying that 3rd times a charm and that we will have no more dripping. Overall, the dispenser is great for getting cold water from the fridge minus the drip issue and it saves from buying plastic bottles all the time.

The main reason we bought this was to make better-tasting coffee. The quality of water significantly affects the taste of coffee. Even a slight amount of chlorine in tap water makes coffee bitter. Water filtered with Brita tastes excellent, and drinking coffee now is an enjoyable experience. The build quality is decent. The plastic parts feel cheap and can easily break if not handled carefully. But I don't think this is a major concern if you set the dispenser in one place and don't move it. The dispenser is big enough that refilling doesn't feel too frequent. It comes with an LED light that indicates when it's time to change the filter. I did not notice any awkward smell in the filtered water. Installation is very straightforward. The blue filters are more economical than the white ones and provide upto 120 gallons of filtered water. Overall, whether the filters are too expensive or affordable comes down to each person's use case. Since I use this primarily for making coffee, I don't replace filters frequently.

After inquiring about a possible dud filter with suspected media slipping through, brita could only and simply say they do not go by tds readings. Understandable but readings should not show an increase in ppm! The TDS meter is only a visual aid to see that it is doing something if anything at all. I will never know exactly what is being filtered without a lab test. I accept this, trusting it's filtering out their NFS certified claimed contaminants. However, if my control group is the first two brita elite filters that showed less ppm, then the current 3rd filter is consistently off. Ppm never less than tap and every other reading from a flushed reservoir is showing slightly more. By their defense, I could hypothetically assume it's filtering claimed contaminants but also adding something. I'm not expecting a ZeroWater reading. By principle, their pitchers have a tds meter permanently fixed into the housing as a measure to know when it's time to change the filter. Makes sense. So, a TDS meter can be a useful aide with superficial expectations. Unfortunately, I went with this brand before doing my research. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Find reviews out there who have paid for the lab tests and compared them amongst brands. There are much better options. Keep in mind that nfs, ansi certs can also have a small degree of politics. Go by the third party lab results! If you're going for the gold, get a reverse osmosis system and not waste time or money or these half-way compromises. Customer service was like beating a dead horse and I'm sure they felt the same about my reason of inquiring. P.S. if, in fact, the filter media is slipping through then that means the contaminants it's holding on to is as well.

Llevo 8 meses con este filtro de agua y lo recomiendo muchísimo. En teoría hay que cambiar el filtro cada 6 meses, pero no he tenido necesidad de hacerlo. Aunque sólo lo ocupo para mí y para mi gatita, chance si lo usan más personas sí hay que cambiarlo a los 6 meses. Soy bastante melindrosa con los sabores que tiene el agua de ciertas marcas y estoy feliz con este filtro porque el agua sabe a NADA.

The size of the water dispenser not as what it is described. I was shocked to note that it is relatively smaller - few inches smaller in term of width, height n long of the product. I noted this because I have bought a stand supposed to fit the size of this product but eventually turn out to be too big. And only later I found that the size is smaller than what it supposed to be . Terrible !

This is a very good design for a filter. Lift it and keep it anywhere. Do need for making any changes to your kitchen. The tap water tastes great too.
