I'm really happy with it. Does everything the dealership DRBIII tool would.
I want to start this review by saying that I'm completely happy with the Autel MaxiDas. Here's why.I bought it to use on my '99 Dodge Dakota pickup to help diagnose a P0300 random misfire code. I suspected that the fuel synchronization was out of spec and the only way to verify was to use a dealership scan tool. So I went in search of an alternative and found the MaxiDAS. I ordered the one with the kit including the various adapters. The Autel came well packaged. Inside the box I found two molded high-quality cases. One included the MaxiDas scan tool and the other, the various adapters. Opening up the cases, I suspect this is the mainland Chinese version and not the one officially destined for the North American market. There were two tell tale signs. First, the power adapter that came with it is for a Chinese market power plug. An adapter for the US plug was not included. This is really just a USB charger and so I didn't worry much about it. Any one should do. I used the adapter for my phone. The second tell tale sign is the missing Chrysler 16-pin adapter. Looking at Autel's site, the adapter is not included with the Chinese market version of the tool. Chrysler products built from 1996-2003 will need this adapter to connect to systems other than the PCM (ABS, Airbag, CTM, etc) as well as to use some of the bidirectional tests. I emailed the seller and he sent me one without any grief.Using the tool is simple. You connect it to WiFi (both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz wifi) and then register it thorugh a setup program with Autel. After that, you're good to go. It includes software to connect to just about every car you can think of. In my case, I selected the Dodge vehicle and connected it to my truck. Since I was missing the Chrysler 16-pin adapter, I just used the generic OBDII connector. Since my truck is pre-2004, the tool prompted me with a warning noting that not all functionality might work. My truck is too old to support the automatic VIN lookup so I manually entered it. The truck was correctly identified from the VIN and I read codes. Without the 16-pin adapter, it only returned codes for the PCM and TCM (engine and transmission).A week or so later, the 16-pin adapter did come and I was able to fully access the truck, including the PCM, TCM, body module, ABS, airbag and overhead console. Pretty cool. The tool includes a lot of active tests and special functions. On my '99, I can do injector kill tests, I can set the fuel sync, I monitor misfires, graph a host of real-time sensors and even see things like the crankshaft and camshaft position signals. It really does everything the dealership tool can do.As far as the device itself, it is well constructed and laid out. My only complaint is that it does not come with a screen protector and that the screen is very easily damaged. Just using it for a few minutes after pulling it out of the box left fine scratches on the screen. I fixed this by buying a cut-to-size plastic screen protector (for an iPad) and cutting it to fix. Easy.If you have the money to spend and want to access the various systems on your vehicle, this is the way to go. You get a lot of functionality in a good tool for the money.

Why didn’t I buy this sooner?
This is an awesome tool! After using a regular hand held scan tool I had no more codes on my project car. I plugged this in and it found 60 codes that the other scan tool couldn’t see.Out of the box, it is obviously a quality made product with good build quality. It connected right to the WiFi and downloaded updates with ease. The tablet is responsive and the software is smooth. The applications run with ease and are user friendly.I highly recommend this scan tool to anyone working on their own vehicles. It saved me a trip to the dealer and will continue to pay for itself in a short amount of time.

Great upgrade
I was using a friends DS-708. The DS-808 works much better. It is easier to use. No more entering the year, model, engine size, and other details of the vehicle you're working on. On most vehicles, it's "what manufacturer", the DS-808 reads the VIN and away you go.

Intermittent Cylinder cut off issue, could be my Duramax, not DS808K(applying throttle works)
Maybe 5 stars, just to call attention. I bought this so I can perform a cylinder cut off for my 2002 Silverado LB7 Duramax. It worked the first time, but not after that It would say ‘cruise control on, test aborted’. I, later, tried again, and it worked once, but again, not again. I found applying a little throttle, this(cylinder cut off)feature works. Cruise control works, and switches work (tested through this scanner). I’ve had intermittent cruise control problems (sometime won’t work unless I reboot engine), but may(maybe not) of been resolved (repaired rodent chewed wires). Another possibility, I may of corrupted ECM, with my first test, must be careful, read instructions, as this scanner is bidirectional.Cylinder cut off worked well on 96 Corvette.Maybe a great scan tool.

More than you expect!!
I've used this product on numerous domestic and import cars. The live scan is very useful as well. I also appreciate that it is android based and can be used like any other tablet without having to change devices. This device does quick work, but, as with any device with this much capability, there is a learning curve. Haven't run across anything in menus or procedures that didn't seem to follow a logical path. Has already saved me considerable money and time .

Support is horrible, product good until it breaks.
I purchased this in January 2022. The unit worked well with constant updates every few weeks. After 6 months I started having issues with the unti connecting. I contacted support about month 9 asking for assistance. They had me do some trouble shooting and stated it was the cable that was bad. So they sent me another cable which took over two weeks to come.. Once I got the cable I tried the into again and it did not connect to the vehicle. I informed Marvin via the support email and a phone call about the issue. He said someone will call me back. Now it's been over 45 days and they will not call to honor the warranty

An economical full-powered scanner
I bought this to re-calibrate the blend door actuator on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I've realized for a few years now that if you want to do anything on a modern car other than change the oil and the brakes you really need to be able to talk to the computers.Changing and calibrating the blend door actuator just covered this tool, and I have since then used it to diagnose a problem with my 4WD system (it was the rear differential module) which totally paid for this - that's a $1600 repair at the dealer.I totally recommend this tool for the high level amateur mechanic.

Works great, can read all power/body/brake modules as needed.
easy to use, lots of features. Worked very well to test injection pump on a Duramax, could command any pressure and see if the pump could make it.
