Great Relief Printmaking paper!
The media could not be loaded. Fantastic paper for printmaking!! I’ve bought this a few times now and really absorbs ink well while keeping crisp lines. Highly recommend! It has a very slight texture and is fairly sheer, but I like that look. Video shows how sheer it is. If you’ve never printed with Washi paper before, you have to try this, especially if you’re working with a brayer and not a press! (Although, use sheet on top when you apply pressure, since is relatively delicate and can tear with too much pressure.

Excellent price for superior product
I easily replaced the old, discolored and torn shoji paper on my tansu using rice glue and it came out looking brand new! The price was very inexpensive compared to other washi papers and I couldn't be more pleased!

NOT waxy on one side
I wrote a review saying that the paper was waxy on one side and that I was disappointed, but that was actually the label paper, not the paper roll itself. So i retract the review (sorry) and give it 4 stars - i would love paper like this but thinner, but that's just for my purposes. Feels strong. Looking forward to experimenting with this in my studio.

Good for light diffusion
I have used vellum as a diffusion medium on LEDs, but it is getting very hard to find thick velum with the proper translucency. It either cuts the light down too much or presents hot spots. I have tried photographer's flash diffusion material and stage lighting diffusion gels. None of these worked for LED conversion on vintage audio gear. I came across this paper by accident while searching for vellum. Thought I would give it a try. It works great!!! The paper does not tolerate any moisture (it's like wet toilet paper), so after cutting to size I gave it a quick dusting of UV resistant clear coat on both sides. Believe it or not, this actually improved the already good diffusion properties while giving the paper some resistance to moisture. So, all you audio restorers out there... look no further.

Excellent paper
The paper is thick and sturdy, but transparency is so good you can see through it. It is excellent for transcribing Han calligraphy. In the process of learning Chinese calligraphy, imitation, replication, and simulation are necessary ways of improvement. By covering this paper on the original calligraphy art, you can promote the learning process quickly because you can see through it and put your stokes exactly as the original piece and yet allowing your own style of expression. Also, the paper would not wrinkle when dried.I have been using different paper for this practicing process and found this is the best one.

Good for sumi work
I have tried dozens of oriental papers for sumi, calligraphy, and Chinese brush painting. Each paper has pros and cons. This paper is one I use often. The cost is great. The texture is beautiful with delicate fiber streaks. It is thick and doesn't wrinkle as much as other papers, but looks surprisingly transparent. It has a unique way of taking ink and color. It has medium thirst, which is neither good nor bad. So I have to use more water than I do with many other papers. I cannot always see my bristle strokes the way I might want to, depending on the kind of painting I am doing. And it bleeds a bit. This can be an advantage because the bleeding makes more interesting edges than other rice papers. Bleeding edges do not form halos around strokes as they do with other papers. Experiment and enjoy the personality of this paper!

When it gets even slightly wet, it tears like toilet paper
I thought I was buying a higher grade of paper. This paper makes newsprint look good. Very thin. Was planning to use with water color, but even a sponge tears it. If that's not what you're looking for, pass on this.

Not mulberry paper!
This is your basic light weight rice paper with a soft and fluffy texture. If you're looking for mulberry paper, look elsewhere.
