It’s very gentle on my scalp. It’s smell okay. I mean it’s Jamaican black castor oil, how do you expect for it to smell.

I’ve been using this product for 7 years, helps my locs stay moisturized. I use it once a week during the summer and twice during the winter if need be. I’ve had a hard time finding it lately which is terrible. I hope it’s not discontinued for the same price of $10!!

Hi, I love this product. This blend is not too thick as Jamaican Black Castor oil (or any castor oil) tends to be. It soaks into my 4c hair and keeps it shiny and moisturized. I only use it about two times a week, but it is the perfect three-part combo with Bronner Brothers Foam Moisturizing Wrapping Lotion and the Bronner Brothers Smooth Sheen Soft & Silky Leave-In Conditioner in the packet! I ordered a few of each product after my first try, so I won't run out! I have found my 4c hair routine that works, especially after I shampoo with Shea Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner Set, Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore, I apply these products and twist or braid my hair and I am good to go!

So I bought 8 of these 2 separate orders because the price was marked down. The order with the first 5 was fine and you can smell the rosemary the second order I got that had 3 smelled a little like old oil with no smell of rosemary. I was about to return it to Amazon when I realized I bought this product at the bronner bros show in ATL and half smelled like rosemary while the other smelled like old oil as well. So all in all im not going to complain when it smelled how it did when I got it from the show. I think it just sits on shelves and loses that smell or its a product thing where the rosemary ratio is off and your mostly getting black castor oil. Make sure you buy it sold and shipped by Amazon to avoid being given a knock off product. I bought so many because I use it to seal me and my kids hair and its been a solid product.

I just started my dread journey and this oil is very lightweight and causes absolutely no buildup at all. The price is also great as well!

My hair is thick and I have 3c/4a hair type ("S" coils everywhere) but my hair can be dry at times due to Eczema, so my hair absorbs this product up. I will continue to buy this products but in higher quantities because every time I find a product that I like, it soon disappears from the marketplace.
