Garant LPP18VD Lynx 18-Inch Poly Blade Snow Pusher

This shovel is a real disappointment. I paid a premium price over better local options for what the description said was a sturdy shovel, made in Canada where they presumably know snow. This is a push and lift configuration, and the blade is way too flexible and soft to be effective cleaning down to an asphalt driveway except in pure powder conditions. The blade flexes when used to scrape any heavy or icy snow, failing to stay on the surface to be cleared. It came in a huge box, so I am not going to return it - but if I had bought it at the local hardware store I would for sure. The handle is really nice ash wood with a good handle, so when the blade breaks I will reuse that part.

I owned a steel snow pusher for 12 years and finally had to replace it. Due to the reviews on this one, I decided to try it. It does not do as well as a steel one. It do not get all the way down to the concrete- the plastic evidently is not level. I do like the handle though.

As it is, it's $29, for a cheap toy! It's massively overpriced, for a wooden dowel ($.75 in a hardware store), a cheap, poorly formed plastic scoop (nothing high tech here folks), and a poorly assembled, wobbly structure. A huge ripoff, back it goes.Only buy this if you like being overcharged for a piece of junk!

After reading some bad reviews, I felt I needed to review and defend this snow shovel. This is my second one. I've had the first one for about fifteen years, and it finally is just worn down too far to use. But I've always liked the "way it felt". There is something about the way the blade is shaped, that seems just right. What this is, is a nice lightweight snow pusher that is great for clearing a few inches of snow. Because there is no metal on the blade, its great for clearing my wooden deck without harm. What it is not, is a heavy duty snow shovel for clearing deep snow, or crusty, hard, frozen snow. I've purchased many different snow shovels over the years, but I've specifically sought out this one again. The only reason I didn't give it five stars, is that the handle on the new one is a few inches shorter than the old one, so I've put the old handle on the new shovel.

i have several garant shovels. this one is 8 inches shorter than any i own. it is like a candid camera cartoon is waiting to see my response when opening this joke. what a waste of time, as i now have to return

Needed a narrow poly snow pusher, this items is just right. As the wet snow builds up its harder to push. This 18: poly pusher is exactly what I was looking for. A light spray with furniture polish helps the snow to slide off.

I have no idea who is writing the rave reviews for this product. I can't even give it a one star. It's a cheap plastic shovel that arrived in two pieces. There's no way to even screw the two pieces together! Going back - what a piece of junk!

Very light weight. The price does not compare to the quality of the product. Very flimsy.

Garant has put together a great offering with this shovel. It is very lightweight, but having the wooden handle is very nice, for this price point.It comes in 2 pieces (Wooden Handle, and Blade), assembly is very easy, requiring only the insertion of the handle, then the addition of a wood screw through the blade into the wooden handle.This is a great shovel for my family, as our 125' long driveway gets plowed by machine, the shovel is for the walkway, and works perfect for that task.drive

It was a pain screwing the handle on. The shovel blade seems flimsy, but the handle is real solid. I guess we'll see how it holds up. Doesn't seem like anything special, but it's hard to go wrong for the price.EDIT: Just tried it out a few times after some wet, heavy snow, and ice... the handle was a pain, but it's held up great!

Item arrived in good time however this shovel required assembly and the assembly screws where missing. As a disabled senior this item served no purpose for me and if has been delegated to a quiet spot in the garden shed. I ordered a pricier winter shovel from Amazon, if arrived well wrapped fully assembled and ready for use. You get what you pay for.

Order this as a deal, it was under $10. Did not expect much and was pleasantly surprised. Not being a tall couple, the shorter than usual handle length, 48", works just fine for both of us. Ideal for cleaning our front porch, deck and stairs where a large scraper is awkward to maneuver. Assembled unit is very light. Certainly not meant for a large drive way, seems to work very well with our heavy wet snow here on the west coast.

I give it a generous 3 stars. I failed to fully read the description. Buy one, your toddlers will love it. It would be suitable for elderly, as it is ultra light, small, which would help insure that they won't pick up much weight which could increase the likelyhood of injury.
