A Perfect Addition
MattyCollector has outdone themselves with Orko and Prince Adam. I love how Orko is the feature and Adam is the accessory. Back in the day when the Masters of the Universe series reigned as King on the tv networks, the Orko figure was popular but plentiful and Prince Adam was sought after and scarce. It is fitting that Orko finally gets his day in the sun, because over time all the people who despise the character are overshadowed by those of us who love him, and have wanted a Filmation accurate depiction in figure form. The figure of Orko is very articulate for such a small depiction, and looks perfect perched on his flotation stand. As for Adam, I can't think of a more fitting expression than the warm and laid back grin that he is sporting with this figure. Both are a much needed part of any Masters of the Universe Figure collection.

Maybe it's Jake Sully under that hat?
Orko was always one of my favorite He-Man characters, and the original figure of him was one of my favorites back in the 80s. Now that I've recently gotten into the MotU Classics line, I had to track down the little magician to properly start my collection. Unfortunately, he rarely goes up for sale through the official Matty site, so you have to be quick to snag one for yourself. I was lucky enough to do so a few weeks ago, and while they messed up big time in overcharging me, I bit the bullet and kept Orko, finally opening him not too long ago. I have to say that he looks much better in-person than he does in pictures. Orko is such a little figure but the sculpt is fantastic and even the 'floating' stand he comes with doesn't look too bad. And of course he comes with probably the best accessory of all the figures so far.Standing at less than 3 inches tall, the little magician is by far the smallest figure released in the MotU Classics series. Because of his size and shape, the articulation is limited, but what's here is very good. You can move his head around and even remove it if you want to. The scarf thingy he has over his mouth can be moved around as well. He has articulated shoulders, elbows and wrists too. His hat isn't removable, like the old figure from the 80s, but I guess you can't win 'em all. There's a common problem with this figure where the orange from his hat bleeds onto the ears. Some figures have it bad, while others are ok. This was supposed to be corrected after the first wave but apparently that's not the case. Aside from that there's nothing bad to say about the paint or sculpt. Orko looks how he should and manages to fit in with all the others from MotU Classics. His accessories include a magic wand, a spell book and a clear stand that's supposed to make him look like he's floating. The wand is easily held in his right hand, and the spell book can be held in his left, but it takes a bit of adjusting, and even then it's a loose fit. No extra hands or head sculpt are included. The stand works well, and since it goes about halfway into Orko, balance isn't much of a problem. You can even tilt him in different directions on the stand, allowing for some fun poses. I do wish the base on the stand were a little bigger or heavier just to ensure that he doesn't fall over if someone runs by or bumps into the shelf he's on, causing him to tumble down. Oh, and did I mention that he comes with a whole extra figure for an accessory? Prince Adam himself is thrown into the bottom of the packaging and comes with one full sword, one half-sword AND an additional teeth-showing head sculpt. Yep, we finally get He-Man in his stylin' purple pants with the furry undies. This figure is great and has the usual articulation you'd find on practically any other male character in this line. One problem though is quality control, and I got the short end of the stick on mine. My Adam's right foot is incorrectly installed, and he has to have it positioned kind of sideways in order to stand up. With the purple pants and purple swords, it doesn't exactly make him look masculine when standing like this.Orko is an absolute must for collectors. I highly recommend getting this normal version over the 'vanishing' one from SDCC. That one's good and all, but having the normal version fits in with the others much better. As much as I want to be mad at this toy for costing me so much, thanks to Matty's brilliantly poor customer service and policies, I can't help but smile whenever I'm posing him or when I see that my daughter had him playing with her toys when I get home from work. Get him when you can, but don't pay the inflated prices. He'll be available again sometime.

2 figures in 1. what a deal
I love MOTUC line from Mattel and glad they have met their target for another year of toy development. This is my 6th MOTUC figure and probably one my my favourites after draegoman. the package is so heavy that it is worth the $26. the only problem with it is that they did not improve the paintjob on adam's hair. it is still kind of oily and messy.
