Large Grain Best for Long-Haired Cats
This is the only litter that works for my two giant, long-haired Maine Coon boys. However, I recommend the Large Grain, not Mixed or Small, for long-haired cats, and Small Grain for short-haired cats. I have been using cassava-based litter for almost 7 years, and back then it was out under the label "Garfield". -- TLDR All Grain Sizes: PRO - Fast clumping; Great odor control; Light color to track some health concerns; Long-lasting between changes; Non-toxic; Zero dust. Large Grain: PRO - Minimal tracking; No clumping/cementing in long fur. Small Grain: PRO - Fully coats stool for best odor control; Lasts longest between changes. CON - Poor tracking; Clumps/cements in long fur. Mixed Grain: CON - Most difficult to sift/keep clean (requires multiple tools / wastes more clean litter). -- Small grain gets cemented into long fur, and is nearly impossible for my cats to remove themselves and requires more meticulous grooming. Large grain is perfect for long-haired cat breeds because the granules are big enough that they don't get stuck in their fur at all, and can't even make their way in their toe beans, yet still amazing at clumping urine in the box. It's amazing. Tracking is so much less with large grain, and easier to clean up than the small grain. This is where large outperforms small grain for Maine Coons, hands down. The small grain gets tracked everywhere so easily, like the cats came from the beach and brought the sandy shore. However, if I had short-haired cats, I WOULD probably use small grain anyway. The small grain is actually my favorite in how it coats poop and how easy it is to keep the box clean because it's easy to finely sift out smaller pieces of stool (especially soft stool that got broken up, as one of my cats is sometimes overly enthusiastic in covering up evidence of his waste). Any grain size soaks up urine super fast, and I can scoop it out instantly for disposal, but waiting a little bit does help it to solidify. PRO TIP: Make sure there is enough depth of litter so that the urine can solidify quicker than it can reach the bottom. That way, there's less scraping and keeps the vessel cleaner longer. You'll figure out how tall you'll need to keep it filled/re-filled. It stays clean longer than other litters I've used, and it's easy to see when it needs to be changed. Small also stays cleaner longer because most mess (like tiny pieces of soft stool or urine) clumps larger than an individual grain, and with a good, fairly fine mesh sifter (PRO TIP: buy the ones sold for reptile cages for Small Grain!), you can really get all the waste out. This ends up making it a bit more economical. For this reason, I don't like Mixed Grain, as it makes scooping unnecessarily complex. You need a scooper with large enough openings so that clean, large grains don't get captured, but that leaves some dirty, small grains clumps too small to capture. If you use a finer scooper to grab those pieces, you're grabbing clean, large grains along with it. So PRO TIP: Skip Mixed Grain size to avoid difficulty sifting. Odor control is great, but I would say due to how the small grain fully coats stool, that it has a bit better odor control. Even so, people come to my house and can't smell litter box odors in the guest bathroom that has two very giant litter boxes that my two boy cats use the most. (We have a third, smaller one in our primary bathroom because 1.5 boxes per cat is the rule we go by.) The largest box they prefer almost exclusively for stool (sometimes urine), the medium for urine, and the third sometimes urine. PRO TIP: I've tried a lot of different litter-tracking mats, but found that for the large grain, Chenille bath rugs are the absolute best and easiest to keep clean. The tall, large pile essentially softly brushes most of the large grains off of paws, and allows me to shake them off back into the litter box. They then go straight into the wash on a regular basis. I keep a second set to replace the one in the wash. It's the best. I hated wiping or hand-cleaning other types of litter mats. Tracked small grains just kind of cemented (in fur, or on mats) and was always a nightmare to deal with.

Great litter, but wish it came in bigger bags
I hesitated for a while to order this litter because I am pretty happy with the World's Best Litter my cat has been using for a few years. And this one is a bit more expensive. I took the bite and decided to try eventually, because what if it is even better? It did not disappoint! I read the one-star reviews and was genuinely puzzled how strong clumping is seen as a negative by some reviewers. I love how amazing this one clumps. It feels so clean and satisfying to scoop up the whole clump (yes, like the one-star reviewers say, like concrete). I use stainless steel litter box and metal scoop, and did not find the "concrete" sticking to the bottom of the litter box at all. I am not sure how plastic will work with this. Maybe it's terrible on automatic litter box, but really there is no problem at all for stainless steel and manual scooping. And one huge positive is that I really didn't notice any dust when scooping. I already like World's Best, so I knew I would like to have corn-based litter. I have cat sat for friends and experienced horrible clay based litters. The dust from those other litters is sickening, literally. SY also does a good job absorbing odors. I wish it came in bigger bags though. 10 lb is barely enough to fill the XL litter box once a month, and I need extra to top off the old litter before completely changing it out once a month or so. For now, I mix it with World's Best litter to lower the cost, and it's working pretty amazing mixed as well. Sustainably Yours does produce less dust than WB, although both are much better than clay, so I wish I could mix in more Sustainably Yours - but it needs to come in bigger bags.

Our favorite litter mixed with fresh step .. not meant to use by itself or it needs replaced often
This cat litter seems pricey but it's Worth it. Came across it by accident when buying bags off marketplace from someone and ended up trying this thinking what the heck kind is this and our cats were skeptical but once they got in it they liked it and it's meant to be mixed with a clay kind half and half or you will go through the all white quickly bc it's clumps everything so when we mix with fresh step we only have to change the whole box for three cats every other week.. we just scoop every day or two depending on them and add a couple cups of this litter every few days to replace what was clumped a long with some deodorizer crystals but this litter with the fresh step keeps our house from smelling like cat.. nobody knows we have three when you walk in unless you happen to walk by during or after they were done but when they go and it's bad I automatically grab a grocery bag and scoop it and sprinkle a little arm and hammer scented crystals and it's back to being fresh. At Petco it's worth it to get the big 26 lb bag for $45 otherwise the 13 lb is $26 ...this one is 10 lbs for around $22 so depending how much you use and how many cats you have... A 10 to 13 lb bag lasts us around two weeks from fully dumping it and filing it up with half the bag and some fresh step then using the other half to add 2 or 3 cups full every few days ... So when we can afford $45 at one time it lasts us a month and two dumps. Ever since trying this , when we can't afford it or they are out in the store around here its never the same and the regular clay Just seems way more smelly and dusty when you walk by except for fresh step which is good for up to a week then needs dumped... I like the clumping even though you have to add more frequently but the ammonia smell makes my eyes water and needs fully dumped after 5 days to a week so I'd rather have it clumped and scoop it then add some then have to dump the whole thing and have the smell.. but not all colors work for us...the blue is our go to and the purple is next best thing but the other we tried when the other two we choose wasn't in was definitely different and not good.

Tracking is a horrible nightmare!
I relocated to another town & my cat developed allergies. Immediately I began investigating pellets to use for his litter. I found Sustainably Yours. When I received the litter there were large dark brown flecks in it. This concerned me as it was not described online. I wasn't sure if it was an insect or was part of the makeup of the litter. I contacted the owner of Sustainably Yours & he sounded concerned & told me he would send me a replacement bag. I discussed the tracking problem & he told me that it should be pellets. He wants to send me the largest size pellet. I did not choose the larger pellet because online it indicated it tracks more than the smaller or medium pellets. The medium size pellets are what I purchased. After approximately one week I contacted the owner once again as I had not received the litter. I never received a reply. He disregarded me all together. When I initially spoke with him, he sounded concerned & proud of his product, but in all actuality had no intention of resolving the issue. That alone lets me know that he is aware his product is inferior. If the owner of the Company doesn't stand behind his product, I'm certainly not going to use it. I'm glad I never received the replacement bag because I would have used it, thinking the bags I originally received were just defective. The biggest problem is the tracking. What a nightmare! This litter isn't pellets, it's sand! The sand works it's way into all areas & continues to track long after the cleanup. I learned from the owner of Sustainably Yours that their litter is created from corn & what is used to make tapioca. The tapioca is what makes the litter harden immediately. As far as tracking..... tracking is the absolute worst I've ever witnessed! It's everywhere because it's finer than sand! It's a never ending struggle to get my home cleaned-up. Also, the more you clean the waste, the more It becomes a finer sand. I'm forced to vacuum 3 -4 times a day, sometimes more! Never have I encountered such a horribly difficult tracking issue! Once I started using this litter, dust began flying everywhere! I ran my fans for a couple of hours. The sand is going thru my A/C duct system as it's on my walls. It was a storm of litter dust that I could have done without! l now dust the walls as much as possible. What a horrible experience. My cat would only sit or sleep underneath blankets as he did when his allergies first began. He can see more dust in the air than I can. I have hardwood floors & know the litter is between the planks. I fear if I mop my floors the litter will harden & damage them! There's nothing I can do at this point. The more I walk on the floors the more litter presents itself. I have since chosen another pellet litter that is actually tofu & it's excellent! It's also a real pellet! The waste hardens & doesn't fall apart when cleaning up. The smell is non existent. The best is there isn't any tracking! I've picked up only 2 pellets in the past 4 days. Everything else about this tofu litter is right on as described. It's also 100% biodegradable so it's can be flushed! My cat loves it & his allergies have stopped once again. DO NOT Purchase Sustainably Yours! It will become your worst nightmare the same as it has become & remains mine! Tracking nightmare update, May 2nd, 2024: I'm still finding this litter when I vaccum! It has definitely lodged itself between my hardwood floor planks and each time I vaccum bits appear. I know it's not the current litter I'm using as the tofu litter I selected is green (there are other colors). Amazing litter! I strongly recommend if you have hardwood floors you contact an expert to ensure the hardening of this Sustainably Yours Litter wont cause any damage to your floors. It' was a mistake for me to trust this Company with a product they recommend to use inside my home. When initially advised of the issues they were kind and considerate. But the kindness and consideration ended with the conversation. They never followed through with the promise to refund or replace the damaged product I purchased. And they don't care about the tracking problem. I'm not the only customer that has mentioned the nightmate it creates. I believe the hardening could cause damage to my cats respirarory system from inhaling while using the litter. I sugguest wearing a face mask while cleaning or even pouring the litter out of the bag into the box. There is a dust storm that could possibly be harmful to any respiratory system. This litter is not delivered vaccum sealed as the current litter I'm using is. The new litter is thumbs up all the way around and I wouldn't have ever discoved it if I received the promised replacement or refund. I was played during my conversation and that's just unkind regardless how you perceive it. I rarely submit reviews but I'm passionate about this product for all the reasons mentioned.

Great alternative to clay litter!
Very long and honest review. :-) Background: I have allergy-induced asthma and while some cats themselves bother me, I realized that it is actually the clay litter dust that I am more allergic to. My recently adopted cats also seemed to be having issues with every clay litter I tried (we went through 4 different 99.9% dust free options, and they were all still causing us issues in one way or another). So after tireless searching and reading reviews from multiple places, I landed on Sustainably Yours for my first try at natural litter. There are definitely some trade offs and learning curves when compared to clay litter that I am ok with, but some may find them to be deal breakers. CLUMPING/ODOR CONTROL FOR URINE 10/10: This BY FAR exceeds the clumping power of any clay litter for urine. I'm talking rock solid clumps virtually on contact. And it absorbs all the urine smell completely. CLUMPING/ODOR CONTROL FOR FECES 7/10: This is one area that requires a learning curve and a little more attention. My cats have chronic soft stools and this litter poses a challenge when scooping. Especially if I scoop it shortly after they go. If it is completely covered up, the smell is concealed vey well, but this litter only lightly coats the feces and doesn't form solid clumps like with the urine when scooping. So if you're using a large slotted scoop and your cats have soft stools, you will 1) want to leave the feces for at least a couple of hours, and 2) want to limit how much excess litter you try to shake out. If you scoop too soon or shake to vigorously (or virtually at all) you will end up with lots of small fecal particles left behind, ehixh is annoying. I did buy a second scoop with small holes to help with this, but it takes extra time to fish the particles out. I also use a Litter Genie and since the feces isn't heavily coated in litter, the smell leaks from the pale much more than it did with the clay litters. I have remedied this by putting a small amount of baking soda (like 1 tablespoon) in the pale each time after I scoop. Problem solved. OVERALL ODOR CONTROL 10/10: once I figured out the tricks above, it works great and there is no litter box smell in my house. I scoop their boxes twice a day, but I think someone could get by with less, as far as the smell goes. TRACKING 8/10: This rating is totally subjective and will completely depend on your current litter experience. I find that this tracks a good deal but not anymore than some of the leading brands of clay litter. We have the boxes in the basement and I find litter about 5 feet away from the box (with tracking mats), but not anywhere else in the house. I would find litter upstairs with some of the clay litters I tried, so for me this was an improvement. It is easily vacuumed up with the upright Dust Devil. DUST 9/10: Another subjective rating. This does have a small amount of dust (especially the longer it is in the box) but it is subjectively so much better than any clay litter I tried. Mainly because neither me nor my cats are allergic to these dust particles. With the boxes in the basement, the amount of dust is not an issue for me and is easily cleaned up with my normal cleaning routine. If I were using this in a smaller space, it might be an issue though. OVERALL RATING 8.5/10: The tracking and learning curve with loose stools drops the rating, but since we aren't allergic to this I am willing to accept these challenges.

Not good for Litter Robot 4
Don’t judge me but I have 7 cats lol. So I needed help. I bought 2 litter robot 4’s with the litter hopper attachments. I don’t like clay litter and had been using tofu litter for over a year now but the kind I had was too big for the litter robot to sift. So i read a ton of reviews and found sustainably yours. At first I was super impressed by the clumping. Honestly the clumping is top tier. However, I’m finding that it doesn’t work well with the litter robot or the litter hopper. The tracking is terrible (it’s almost as bad as clay litter). It gets everywhere. It constantly sets off the sensor and gives “pinch alerts” which is annoying. Even though I got the large grain (i tried small grain and that caused so many more error messages and way worse tracking) It would dump a lot of unused litter. The waste bin needs to be dumped every 5-6 days. So I ran through more litter than normal and found myself filling the litter hopper more often. Meanwhile I ran across Lady N Granular Tofu Cat Litter. The only tofu litter I’ve found that comes in small grain. So I put it in the other litter robot. This works so much better for me. Way less tracking, never get any error messages and the litter hopper lasts. I’m using less litter in that robot. I refill it and dump the waste bin every week and a half (which is amazing having so many cats). The only thing that occasionally happens is i need to scrape stuck litter from the inside of the robot which doesn’t happen with sustainably yours. However, I rather have that rare issue then what I have to deal with using this brand. As far as the smell… I don’t notice it because the litter robot does a great job of keeping that at bay. Neither brand has that weird clay smell.

I finally don’t dread cleaning the litter
It’s been just about a week since I switched to Sustainably Yours. I bought the small granules. If you like short and sweet… I am very pleased and plan to continue using it. If the price isn’t an issue for you, buy it. You and your cats will love it. For those who enjoy a long winded story time… settle in. I had used Fresh Step clay litter for years. It was around $19 for a 25lb box at my local grocery store. I have 3 oversized litter boxes (and 3 cats), and I would buy 4 boxes of litter (around $80). I used 1 box for each litter, and the remaining box of litter would be used to top off as needed. Once I ran out, the litter boxes would get a full reset. I didn’t love or hate Fresh Step. Scooping litter is a chore that I never expected to be pleasant. Pros: ok with odor control (if you scoop daily and replace frequently), tracking wasn’t too much of an issue past the litter room, clumped well until it got close to replacement time. Cons: the dust/fragrance… I would smell the litter fragrance on my clothes and hair after scooping. I would plan cleaning the litter right before getting in the shower to avoid smelling it on me all day. The weight of the boxes themselves and the scooped litter waste was HEAVY. I had to double bag when scooping for fear of it breaking through. It gradually clumped less effectively over time. Odor control was less effective over time. It stuck to the scoop at times and sifted through slowly. Anyway, I pet sit and saw Tidy Cats Lightweight at one of the houses. It really was night and day lighter. She had 6 cats and it was still noticeably lighter than what I was used to scooping out. So I switched. It was about $27 for a 17lb box off Amazon, and I bought 2 ($54 total). I used 1 1/2 of the boxes to fill my 3 litters, and I used the remaining half to top off as needed. I don’t have any Pros except it was lightweight. Cons: I’ve left a review, but to summarize… the dust was unbearable and coated everything. The fragrance was overpowering. It took over not just my hair and clothes, but my entire house. I had to wash all the sofa and pillow covers, mop the walls, and wipe the cats downs to try to get rid of it. It’s still faintly haunting me. It tracked everywhere. I was finding it places days after switching to Sustainably Yours, and I sweep and/or vacuum daily. Now to Sustainably Yours. It was around $22 for a 10lb bag, and I bought 4 ($88). I used all 4 to fill my 3 litter boxes and they were lower than I usually keep them (this ended up not being a problem). I just bought a 5th bag so I can top off (now $110 total) Pros: No dust, it’s incredible. No scent to the litter when fresh. There’s no cat waste odors once used, but there is a very light corn(?) scent when scooping… it’s hard to describe, but it is minimal and not unpleasant. It goes away after the waste is removed. It clumps AMAZINGLY, and because of the fine grain it moves through the scoop quickly which cuts the time I spend in there. Cons: it’s a more expensive than past litters. It tracks slightly. Not much past the litter room itself. I use a small dust pan to sweep it up and toss it back into a litter box. I’ll happily pay a little more to have the dust, odor and weight issues resolved. Most importantly, my cats like it. I didn’t do the slow transition you’re supposed to do, layering old with new. I couldn’t stand the old stuff a minute longer once the Sustainably Yours arrived. Thankfully they didn’t care, and took to it right away. I will update if anything changes with time.

Finally a litter that works
I have shared my home with cats all my life (a long time...). Trust me when I say I have used every litter out there. Years ago, there was nothing but clay, I do not miss those days. When clumping litter came along, I was thrilled with the idea. However, most of the clumping litters have a very strong scent, to cover potty presents I assume. But I was never comfortable with how strong some of the scents were knowing my cats have a stronger sense of smell. So, if it bothered me...I can only imagine. Plus, the scents were chemical based. I've tried all the natural litters: crushed walnuts, grass, you name it. I have been using a brand from a pet company that worked ok, clay based, kept smell down, clumped ok. But the dust was too much. So much dust that my cats were tracking white dust prints around the house. I have COPD so the dust was a deal-breaker for me. I ran across an advertisement for this Sustainably Yours Cat Litter, and it sounded very interesting. I got a couple of bags to try. This was a risky move because I have special needs kitties. 2 of my seniors have advanced kidney disease so they drink water all the time and keep the litter box busy. I have a low-sided senior box and a bigger box for my other 2 kitties. Since I needed to wash my senior box, I just refilled it with the Sustainably Yours. It took a day for them to check it out, but since they have found out it isn't bad, they are using it more than the other box. Let me testify there is NO dust!! And it captures the urine and concretes it into a ball that easily scoops out. The poop isn't the greatest. Somebody is being rude and not attempting to cover up their poo, but it scoops out great. There is no smell to the litter, but that does mean won't mask the poo smells. Having 4 cats I scoop their boxes morning, afternoon, and before bed. I haven't had any scattering, not even with my 5 toed cat who typically carries a ton of litter in those big mitts. I am thoroughly pleased with this litter. The biggest downfall is the price. I wish it weren't so expensive. But I appreciate it being natural ingredients that clump perfectly and have zero dust or tracking. It's a keeper for me and my kitties.

Overall, it’s reliable, effective, and worth every riyal.
This product has genuinely exceeded my expectations. The clumping is strong and clean, making daily scooping effortless. What impressed me most is how well it controls odor, even with regular use, it keeps the space fresh without any heavy artificial scent. It’s also a low-dust formula, which helps keep the area around the litter box tidy. Overall, it’s reliable, effective, and worth every riyal. I highly recommend it.

The best litter.
I swear by this litter. Large grain is my preference for my male cats as I don't want any litter getting stuck in their urinary tract as smaller litters can. Almost no dust. I like that its not toxic. Was the brand I used when I got my cats as kittens to make sure unintentialky digestion wasn't toxic like the clays and silica out there. I will not use anything else and my cats love it. I tried a walnut shell one for a few months when I was not able to get locally and didn't shop Amazon and when I was able to order it again, my one cat did biscuits in it. He did that once, not a normal thing, I think he was really happy! Now my one cat does biological warfare style poops. I say this covers about 7/10 of the smell, not perfect but don't think anything out there would address that (don't worry he's healthy, vet checked and he's just like this). My other cat I find 9/10 coverage for odor.

The Best Cat Litter I’ve Tried
Honestly, this is the best cat litter I’ve used. After years of owning cats and trying all kinds of litter, including pellets, clay, silica, corn, and tofu, I’ve found that this one is the best overall. Not only is it natural and sustainable, but my cats seem to love it, and it makes cleanup much easier. It absorbs liquids quickly and clumps almost instantly, which makes scooping very convenient. I’ve also noticed that it does a good job of reducing odours. My cats have had no issues with it at all. It also doesn’t track too badly. A few grains may come out of the litter box, but that’s pretty normal with most litters. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Great cat litter
So this is some great litter and I completely recommend it to everyone. But, I have found that it is the best when mixed with a decent clay litter for a few reasons. First being the bag size and price point. 35$ before tax for 10lbs is a bit too much to want to use it on its own unless you have the money to spare and or don't care. I get a good clay litter for 20$ and its about 20lbs. Second, Using this litter on it's own was a bit of a mess it sticks to the bottom of the stainless steel pans and takes a bit of scraping to get it off. It tracks really really bad when used alone given its so light weight. When mixed though its no where near as bad very minimal. With out it being mixed into another litter it would not last a month due to the clumping. You would be constantly adding more or having to buy multiple bags in a month. Smell wise there is no smell completely absorbs any. I have no complaints there at all mixed or not. I got this bag of litter May 28th it is at the time of writing this June 24th all I have done is clean it daily and topped it up only twice since and still no smell and the remaining litter is completely fine. Could likely go another couple weeks before a full on dump and change. Would only need to add about 2 or so cups of this to about 3 inch deep worth of clay litter and get at least a months worth of use out of it if cleaned daily like you are supposed to. I have 2 cats and 2 boxes and half a bag of this litter left that's pretty damn good given with just clay I was dumping it every 2weeks. So, its a great cat litter just as an addition to your current litter to make it longer lasting less stinky and clump better without using up all the litter in just a few pees lol Will be getting this again 100% great addition to clay or possibly other litter types.
