Three weeks into my AT thru hike, one of the ribs broke when a limb caught it. I stopped and backed up before it had very much pressure on it, but it broke. Other than that, I did like it in terms of ease of use in rigging it to my backpack straps, the width of the canopy and the weight. I paid the extra money thinking it would be more durable, so I'm disappointed that it broke so soon, so easily.

I've used one of these umbrellas twice while walking the Camino de Santiago. I used it mostly as protection against the sun, and it worked perfectly. A couple of times the wind blew it inside out, but it was easy to revert it.

I used one of these on the Camino de Santiago & is was light weight and sturdy - just want I wanted on a long walk. I recently bought a new one to replace the old, and the quality has plummeted. Little pieces became loose the first time I used it, but it was still usable. This morning it separated into two pieces. I have used the umbrella less than a dozen times, and never in high winds or rough conditions.This is a low-quality product at a high-end price.

Never work had a loose piece on sleeve, could never close it, broke numerous ribs, never retuned it would had cost me an other $35,00. This umbrella had already cost me too much, some $118.00. Was never payed back, would had have to returned it to dealer cost too much already. Sent pics to dealer, never heard anything back.Whent to local store an bought one for $17.00

Broke on first use!!

Der Schirm bringt den gewünschten Schutz und hält auch einiges aus. Es ist toll, den Schirm so weit ausziehen zu können.Minus-Punkte: Bei starkem Wind schlägt der Schirm schnell um. Die Handhabung des Teleskops bzw. das Auf- und Zumachen finde ich persönlich etwas umständlich, brauchte etwa eine Woche des täglichen Benutzens, um die richtigen Handbewegungen flüssig drauf zu haben. Ausserdem habe ich immer Angst, dass das Ein- und Ausschrauben des Teleskops evtl. bald mal ausleiert und dann nicht mehr hält (aufgrund anderer Bewertungen).

Ich kenne - wie ich erfahren durfte - die Vorgängerversion dieser Schirmart. Diese jedoch war wegen des zu erfüllenden Zweckes - Schutz vor Regen und Sonnenbestrahlung (silber) im handfreien Zustand (am Rucksack fixiert) - ziemlich lang (ca 1,15 cm um 50 %) konstruiert. Durch die Dreifachteleskopierung wurde die Länge nochmals reduziert, sodass eine optimale Verstauung im gefalteten Zustand verbessert gewährleistet ist. Seine Wirkung - nämlich die Reduzierung der UV- und IR-Bestrahlung - erfüllt es derart ausgereift, dass ich als licht- und sonnenstrahlenempfindliche Person auch bei intensiverer Sonnenstrahlung wieder das Freie unbeschwerter aufsuchen und meinen Sehnsüchten - z. B. Wandern - erfolgreich beschreiten kann.
