Amazing quality, much more rugged than basic Vibrams
Shoe is amazing quality (and I assume it's original after seeing the packaging), and if you are used to barefoot running like me, no other shoe can come even close to this feel. The only downside is the sole is heavier than the more basic vibrams, and so tends to not stick at the heel as much.I guess you will get used to it, I did in a few days.Given the right fit, these shoes are just brilliant for the gym and running on the road. My other more basic vibrams can't take glass shards or rocks, and I've injured myself a few times. But these are way more tougher at the sole.DONT buy a smaller or larger size since these shoes fit like a glove and even simple socks will start slipping.Make sure you buy a size that is as close to exact measurements as possible. I'd say go to a bata or woodland store and take measurements.

Comfortable, good quality, & versatile!
This is the 4th pair of Vibram Five Fingers I've brought to help me on my foot health and fitness journey.I'm glad I've given these shoes a chance.I've even run in them a few times (and they've held up.)I advise starting off slow in adjusting to them.I didn't need an adjustment period when walking... So I didn't give myself as much of a period when starting to run in them.Big mistake.Whatever your run distance or pace in "normal" run shoes, don't hold yourself to those standards when starting out /working to incorporate these into your regimen.(For reference, I'm flat footed.)

My favorite trail running shoes so far
I had to get these because I wore through the soles of my previous Vibrams over the course of 1.5 years of trail running in forest/mountain terrain. The fit is snug all around with socks, except that the toes are slightly longer than I need them to be. I might have small toes. Although I was hoping to rebuy the exact same shoes again, these (V-Train 2.0) have turned out to be slightly superior with no regressions to complain about so far.I've been trail running in the new shoes for a few weeks now, I'm going to guess 100 to 200 km or so. They are great in the forest or on textured rubber track, but terrible on asphalt and other perfectly solid smooth surfaces, just like the previous thin-soled toe shoes. They also work as water shoes. So, I would highly recommend them for running and playing on natural surfaces, but I would not recommend them for running on paved city paths, boardwalks or for basketball.I can see that the ruggedness of the shoe has been increased in several ways, but none of that will matter if I wear through the sole as quickly as I did to the previous Vibrams; my previous shoes had no significant damage other than sole wear at the balls of the feet. Having said that, the rubber seems slightly harder in the new shoes, and that feels good.

Best for trail running
As long as you don't heel-strike, which is always bad, these shoes are ideal for trail running on any terrain. I've been using them for that purpose for about 10 years. It would be nice if the rubber was toughened up at the outer ball of the foot (where a sprinter strikes). Mine always wear through at that point on both shoes. As soon as something gets inside I replace them (250 to 300km). Also, stray knots inside the shoe can rub a hole into your foot, they're not always there but they hurt.
