Great product does what it's supposed to
Great bulbs. I use them for my 27 year old parrot. Last a long time and well packaged

Stopped working after only a few uses
Purchased this lightbulb for our little feathered friend to provide some artificial sunlight during overcast spring days. Bought the bulb to use with a ZooMed light fixture. ZooMed sells a similar UV bulb… But it cost about $10 more than this one. So we decided to give the more economic option a chance. We received it in mid April and used it a handful of times. Our bird spends most of her time on a sunporch. Once we started getting consistently sunny days we stopped using it as much.We had the bulb for about five weeks when during a couple days of overcast weather, we tried to use it again. Unfortunately we found that the bulb was burnt out already.Thankfully it’s now June and the sun is out. Disappointing that we only used this bulb about five times before it burned out.It appears that this product has lots of positive reviews so maybe we just got a bad bulb. But next time we will probably just bite the bullet and spend the 10 extra dollars and get the lightbulb that is designed to work with the light fixture. On a sidenote, when it comes time to buy a new bulb, I’ll probably go to my local pet store and not buy this on Amazon… This is a case of had I bought it locally I could probably take it back and return it. In this case, I guess I’m just stuck buying a new bulb.

A must for birds. Good for their feathers. Works well not too bright and sits on cage convenient

Fair alternative
Have purchased many AvianSun fluor. bulbs in the past.Opted for this brand as a trial. Not as happy with the bulb overall. Not lasting as long as AvianSun, not as bright. Lamp loses intensity in less than a year. Replaced the unit with a duplicate tube in less than a year. AvianSun would typically provide fuller intensity past the 1-year mark.It does appear that the base assembly has fewer design issues than AvianSun: plastic base did not discolor nor show heat stress. Bulb remains secure in base, has not broken or loosened in mount. Materials quality? The dilemma: length of use over build design? May have to consider the build thought as the prevailing due to fire risk seen with the AvianSun tube base assembly experienced at least 3x.

Light for our umbrella cocotoo. It does its job and keeps her from pulling out her feathers..

Great for parrots
Every 2-3 years I reorder this exact bulb to go over my African Grey's cage. I have it setup with a smart plug and programmed to switch on/off according to the sunrise/sunset times. It keeps her active and happy.

Use it for my conures
For the most part, it had held up since I bought it about 6 months ago. My birds love it and their feathers have changed a little bit of color. Not sure if it’s from the light or from their food though.
