Mixes well and last a while
Mixes easy and completely and I use this in protein shakes which i drink 2x a day without fail. Great health benefits without the little bits of kale that usually remains in food processor and wind up in your smoothie. Tastes like kale and you get enough to last you atleast 6 months maybe more definitely value. Mixes well and is t too over powering unless you use more than the recommended dose. I have noticed my health changes for the best since I started using this in my protien shakes and smoothies

Delicious and Nutritious
We try to eat really healthy and I prefer real food to taking supplements. That said, I eat what my wife cooks, and although she makes delicious food from scratch, I felt like we don't get enough leafy greens or cruciferous vegetables in our daily diet. So I gave this product a try and am very pleased with it.If you want a "serving" of kale you probably want to be taking at least 1.5 teaspoons. For some reason the nutritional data presented when I bought it was for just 1 gram, which seems kind of pointless. I just use a heaping teaspoon.I like the flavor enough that I mix it with a minimal amount of water to get a pretty strong flavor. It just tastes nice and fresh to me.It's organic, and from what I can tell, the freeze drying process should not have significant effect on the nutritional values (probably less than cooking). As far as I can see, even the powdered format should not significantly degrade the value of the fiber (supposedly high-speed processing damages the usability of vegetable fiber, but there seems to be conflicting information about this). The powder form certainly makes it easy to get your daily greens in and the pricing seems to similar to what it would cost to buy equivalent amounts of organic kale in the grocery.

Excellent product, no added ingredients, great support, tested by 3rd parties.
I had previously ordered kale powder from Microingredients and found it to be adulterated with powdered sugar, and who know what else. The powder was very light green indicating a fair amount of added sugar, and the taste was somewhat like kale, but with no declaration of added substances, I don't trust that brand. In contrast, the kale powder I ordered from Nutricost was pure kale powder with no other added ingredients, and the flavor was good with a legitimate kale taste.I contacted customer service asking (1) if there were added ingredients, (2) if it had been tested for heavy metals, and (3) where it was grown. The answer I received was that there are no added ingredients, it is grown in China, and that Nutricost products are manufactured in a GMP compliant, FDA registered facility and are tested by independent, iso-accredited laboratories. Nutricost primarily uses the following facilities to conduct 3rd party testing on their products: Analytical Resource Laboratories , Advanced Laboratories, Inc , and Dyad Labs. Also I questioned why all the listed nutritional information was listed as zero for fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates and protein. The reason is that the servicing size (1g) doesn't contain enough of those nutrients to be listed on the label. I received nutrient information from the company for 100g which is listed as follows: KJ 1179 (1179 kilojoules = 282 calories), Total Carbohydrate 17.6g, Fat 3.9g, Protein 20.9g, Dietary Fiber 47.7g, Sodium 464mg, Calcium 1199mg. I pasted the image with this review.

pantry staple
I buy (or grow) kale when I can. I also use powder when I want to boost nutrition of a meal. I like adding it to soups, casseroles, meatloaf, meatballs, taco mix, smoothies, even pancakes and oats. I consider it a pantry staple but also a preparedness item. I don't always find fresh, and so I want to ake sure I have some options on hand if fresh food is limited, unavailable, too pricy, or just doest look good. So I also keep spinach powder, mushroom powder, broccoli powder, and various fruit powders in my pantry. Again, I don't rely on them as my sole source but they have a place in my life. I tend to like Nutricost products, so I will likely buy this again.

Works, cost effective, lighter than some alternatives
Works great for me. The color is lighter than the deeper green I had come to expect from certain other brands that probably use a darker variety of kale (such as blue curled).I use it in smoothies and/or oatmeal and it serves the purpose of ensuring I get more leafy greens each day. Doing this with kale and/or spinach powder lowers the long term cost of using only something more complete and premixed, such as Amazing Greens. But using spinach alone increases oxalates while kale alone increases goitrins. So I alternate and mix them to lower the total cost. You can make it taste better by adding reconstituted goji berries and/or raisins (soak them in hot water). They say that citrus often goes well with cruciferous greens, but I haven't tried mixing this with orange or lemon juice yet.Large quantities of raw kale every day for too many weeks or months consecutively can exacerbate thyroid issues. So for people with iodine or thyroid differences, it's best to take some raw and some cooked, rather than all raw. I mix mine with dried berries and reconstitute with hot water, sort of like a tea, so I don't have to worry about that. In order to benefit from the glucosinolates, you'll want some raw as well from time to time.

Maybe top-quality, but kale powder tastes terrible!
This may well be super-high quality organic kale powder. I do not in any way disagree with that. This having been said, the taste of this kale powder was totally repulsive to me. All of it is going into the compost.
