The performance

My husband needed new drill batteries and these things go for days. He is always surprised how much work he can get done with out them dying on him.

I used it 1 time in my circular saw- I made 2 rip cuts. On the 2nd cut I noticed it smelled hot so I stopped cutting. I waited, the saw would not run. I put it into my charger; the charger gives a fault message. I returned it to receive a refund. I have assorted Hitachi tools & 3 Hitachi batteries, all approximatly 10 yrs old. All work ok, they just dont have the run time they did when new.

Seems to work just fine and much better than the supplied Ni-Cd battery, but on my batteries the post that fits inside the drill with the contacts is about 1/16" - 1/8" thinner than the original Hitachi battery. This means that when you put it in the drill, it doesn't work. Using a screwdriver the pry the drill side spring contacts a little fixed the problem.

These all fully charged with the one that came with the new batteries.

This is probably a good battery BUT it is a lithium ion battery and is NOT COMPATIBLE with Hitachi UC18YG NiCad chargers.This warning is not posted (and should be) in the description and has caused me and Amazon the inconvenience of having to return the item.If you have a NiCad charger, look for a NiCad battery. Lithium Ion batteries don't work in older original chargers.

Good deal for the price, it doesn't work in my charger. Double check your numbers and such. I thought it would work in mine but it does not. Probably user error but I wish I would have returned it in time to get my money back now it's just sitting there and I don't want to spend the time looking for a charger that should work.
