Vibrant colors and fun
I enjoyed making my own envelopes using these very vibrant paints. These are a bit different than typical marbling paints. They are oil based so the more paint u pile on the longer it takes to dry. Also they dont form a skin on the water’s surface so swirling them around is a bit different too. Seems to be best for paper only.

RUN THE OTHER WAY!
Please don't waste your money on this set of marbling paint. I took a class in Suminagashi at my local library, and the teacher recommended buying paint on Amazon (Innovation Marbling Kit, Japanese Suminagashi by Aitoh). When I was shopping on Amazon, I saw this set of paints by Stationery, which were about the same price but had twice as many colors as the teacher-recommended set. I bought this one instead. Bad decision. The paint ran, did not adhere to the paper, and was still wet the next day. The paints used in our class dried immediately with brilliant colors and no bleeding or running. The resulting pictures were crisp and clear with beautiful designs of separate colors. Lesson learned....always listen to your teacher!!! Buy the set by Aitoh instead - you'll be thrilled with the end product.UPDATE: After about a month, I decided to give these inks another try - with a different medium to adhere to. When I opened the box, ALL of the colors had leaked out into the tray. The tops had been screwed back on tightly, so it's a mystery. It was a big stinky oily mess. Needless to say, this was the last straw, so into the garbage they went. The smell was bad enough to warrant taking the garbage out to the dumpster. PLEASE don't waste your money on this junk.

Awesome marbling kit
This kit makes amazing marbled paper. So easy to use; just a little water and a few drops of paint. Swirl the paint around and lay down the cardstock. Dries very quickly. I got two really good prints out of each round of paint. Very bold print the first time and a more subdued print the second time. It even worked on black cardstock. Super easy clean up. It just wiped off of everything except the paper; counter, paint brush, sink and my hands.

Messy, quality
The paint is not acrylic, it has an oil base which does not work with water. The colors are bright and bold. The tops do leak and the paints are messy to work with. I would not purchase again!

Oily mess, not for kids. Might be toxic? But they work.
This was a really fun project to do with my kids, and we were pretty happy with the results. The paint/ink worked reasonably well, but I'm not sure I would recommend them unless you know what you are doing and know this is what you want. These are oil based and work on the principle of oil being less dense than water. They have an incredibly potent petroleum smell. Even though we did this outside it stunk up our entire house. It was like working with gasoline. I'm not entirely sure these are not toxic and am concerned about that. Several of us felt light headed and sick, again, even though we were working outside with good ventilation. While the results were pretty cool, it takes a long time to dry. Possibly never dries? Think of oil or food stains you get on paper or fabric, even after 24 hours it is not cured. We were working with paper and fabric, if you are applying paint to a hard surface and then coating it with a sealer or something, might be a different story. We made an incredible mess and had fun, but next time I think I will go with the water based route of carrageenan and acrylic paint, at least it will be easy clean up and I can feel safe that it is not toxic.

Good colors
These are great colors. Need to use them with a marbling medium to get the colors but they are good. They leak a bit, but painting is messy.

Pretty bad
I purchased this set last week and was very excited to play with them. No directions so I looked on YouTube for a video. Found one. They were easy to use. However, several of the colors clumped together in the pan and didn't swirl as well as others. The smell is pretty harsh. One of the reasons I purchased this set is I wanted to do a project with my young daughter. In the description it stated it was non-toxic. Maybe it is but doesn't smell non-toxic. All of the paints leak. I did see that in the comments after I purchased so I went to lengths to keep them upright while using. They still leaked. I will say we did get some cool marbling. But because this is oil based, they do not dry. It's been a week and I am still getting color on my hands when I pick them up. So for that reason, I can not give them a good review.

Superior product
I ordered two different brands. This brand was above and beyond the other brand. Brought it to Christmas for the 6 cousins to create with. Ages ranged from 4-17. They all had fun with it. It can get a bit messy. The more you add in the water the longer it takes to dry. Some papers took 4 days to dry, but the kid added way too much.
