Purchased this set for my 10 year old niece. She loves all the options and especially liked the journal and feather quill.

I got two of these for my kids and I love to use all of it just as much as they do! I always wanted something like this when I was young. It is a lot for the money, and the wax colors are awesome! The ink is a bit messy but it is all super easy to use and is so fun!

From the box packaging to the inside, everything looks magical or mystical. The seals are fun to heat up and make the beautifully shaped wax. The calligraphy pen and nibs makes it so exciting to dip in the ink. I feel like I am transported to the romantic past with the accompanying journal. Looking forward to open my snail mail with the tool. After using, it all goes back into the box and the outside even has a nice design which you can gift without having to wrap Wish the cost was slightly lower. Otherwise, loved it.

This was a gift for my grandson, and he loves it and uses it all the time!

There is a LOT of pieces to this set. It all looks gorgeous and as a lover of steam punk it's fantastic. The journal comes in it's own box.I am not new to inking, calligraphy, or wax seals, but any true beginner wouldn't know what to do with some of this stuff. For one there's no instructions on absolutely anything, but YouTube and TikTok is a thing now so not super hard to just find your own tutorials. But one thing that it is lacking is that there isn't a stand to hold the melting bowl, so you have to hold it. The handle is wood so I doubt you could burn yourself, but you would have to hold it even if it does get warm because if you set it down you could burn whatever surface you put it on, or accidentally dump the wax which would be annoying. Staying on track with the wax seals there are a LOT of details on these seals. They look pretty but sticking a ton of tiny itty-bitty details into a wax seal just causes them to blend together or disappear.last negative is that the ink bottle doesn't fit into the inkwell that comes it. It's so very close but doesn't sit flat.onto the positives. It took some effort to pull the nub out of the pen, and that is a good thing. You don't want your nub to fall out while you're writing, or worse, while you're dipping it into an ink bottle (the horror). The nub also holds ink really well too. I was able to write 4 lines on the journal before it stopped flowing correctly with one dip. The wood pen is very comfortable to hold as well. Feather is a little harder just because I don't want to crush it and the gears can get in the way as well.I took a billion pictures of this set to show for the review, but my review didn't process, and I no longer have those pictures and I've mixed the tools in this set with the rest of my other inking/wax seal stuff. sorrehh.

I chose this kit because of the feather calligraphy pen, and I'm not disappointed! I was very impressed with the quality for the price of this kit. The seal variety is fun, and I'm enjoying the challenge of calligraphy.
