MAXPOWER 10 Oz Claw Hammer, 14-inch Fiberglass Handle with Shock-Absorbing Rubber Coated, Textured Striking Face

So here's my deal. I am a self-managing, hands-on landlord who owns multiple single-family and small multifamily properties, and I need a heavy-duty tool backpack to take everywhere with me to do all kinds of jobs. This hammer has earned a place in that backpack. It replaced three other tools and partially replaced a fourth: my 16 oz regular hammer, an 8 oz shorty hammer, a cat's paw, and my large pry bar (I still have to carry a small 7 1/2 pry bar).First of all, it's a 10 oz. hammer. The smallest I could get away with in my bag would be a shorty 8 oz. That would be too light for a lot of different jobs. 10 oz. is also light, but this hammer has an extra-long handle and a textured face. If you need to, you can beat a blunt framing nail back down flush to dimensional lumber with it. You can also smash a padlock a lot more effectively. When you choke up on the handle, however, it goes back to being a nice little lightweight hammer for fine jobs.The double claw on the back is finely machined and holds nails in place after you pull them. The little claw replaces most of the uses of a cats paw. I say most here, not all. It would still be nice to carry around my little Estwing cats paw for little nails when doing window replacement and things like that, still, the double claw is far more functional than an ordinary, coarsely machined claw on, say, your normal 16 oz bargain hammer. I'll take the weight compromise any day in the bag, however.The extra-long handle also allows you to do some heavier-duty prying in spots when you might need it. I can get away with a small Stanley Wonderbar II and this, instead of my regular 12-inch pry bar. I also have to carry both stiff and flexible putty knives and a foldable Husky painter's multitool in my backpack, these also help, especially for jobs where you need to ease something slowly out with two prying tools.I'm actually surprised a company makes and sells this thing. It's not at all an obvious tool. It does a number of things surprisingly well and that makes it very, very useful in a general handyman's bag like mine, a homeowner's primary toolbox, even an apartment dweller's basic bag of tools. If that's what you're looking for, either for yourself or someone else, this is it.

Do NOT buy this hammer or any hammer fro this company. Handle glued onto steel. When prying gutter supports the handle failed and I fell 8-10 feet injuring my shoulder and the head nearly hit my Daughter below. Lawsuit pending. Purchased at Murdochs. Used maybe 3-4 hours on 4-5 home projects.

Ein guter Hammer. Etwas schwerer wie die „Normalen“ mit Holzgriff, liegt dafür aber sehr gut in der Hand. Man kann sehr gut damit arbeiten, da der Schwerpunkt gut ausbalanciert ist.
