Hi Janelle,The Gummy Goods Nightlights come with a built in jack, but they do not come with an A/C adapter. Yes, you can definitely use them as reading lights. Some colors are naturally easier to ready by than others though. The red, purple and green will not be as easy on the eyes as the other colors would.

No it does come on by itself. And these gummies in purple and pink didn’t last past 1 month . Try target. Don’t waste your money.
