I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning
Mittelain Cleaning Flying Saucers - Removes Built-Up, Hard Stains from Glass Bottles/Decanters, Tough Coffee Stains from Stainless Steel Tumblers Alright folks, real talk: I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning. In fact, I'm the kind of lazy person that will drink 2-3 cups of coffee every day and will only give my cup a quick rinse at the end of the day. I'm also a particular fan of french press coffee, which some of you may know leaves a thick layer of coffee residue once you're done. Well needless to say with my coffee drinking habits and lack of cup washing habits, my favorite coffee mug quickly developed a really nasty stain. Once this stain was set, it was impossible to remove no matter how how long it soaked in hot soapy water or how hard I scrubbed it. So when heat, soap and good ol' fashioned elbow grease failed, what else could a guy try?I'll tell you what: Cold. Hard. Steel. Now I'll admit, I was pretty doubtful when I first found these "Cleaning Flying Saucers". After all, I'd never heard of anything like these things before and they just SCREAMED gimmick. But you know what? They actually worked and worked well to boot. As you probably guessed, they're these stainless steel beads that are shaped like flying saucers that you use to add in a little bit of extra abrasiveness when washing your dishes. A strange idea but at this point, I was ready to try anything to get the stain out of my mug. So the day after they arrived, I brought them into the office and gave them a shot. I tossed them into my mug with a little bit of warm water, dish washing soap and just started scrubbing with a soft sponge. I've uploaded some pictures to show how well they work. The first picture shows the infamous stain in question (1 year of french press coffee, it's no joke). Second picture shows the effect after about 2 minutes of light scrubbing. The stain isn't completely gone, but there is definitely a noticeable improvement. The last picture is after about 4 minutes of total scrubbing time. Now the stain isn't completely gone, but the beads have removed at LEAST 95% of the coffee stain with minimal time and effort on my part. And I'm happy to report that the saucers didn't scratch my mug or remove any of the paint whatsoever. They're 100% stainless steel so they never rust and they'll last forever. The only downside that I can see is that they're fairly small, about 1/3 of the size of a Tic Tac mint, so they may fall in your drain if you don't have a cover. But because they're made of steel, they're fairly heavy and won't float when submerged in soapy water. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with these little saucers and I can't wait to try them on some tougher stains and messes that I have at home. Cast iron pan with caked on gunk? SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIENDS!

Maybe order accessories later after the main item has been received in good condition?
I bought this item for the decanter in the same order. Now the decanter has been returned because of bubbles and blemishes, therefore, there is no need for the decanter cleaning beads any more. However, since you will charge me for return shipping, I wonder if it is a reasonable proposition?

Not all that great but worth trying
I really wasn’t impressed with these. It’s not that they don’t work but if your degreaser isn’t taking off whatever you’re working with then I just don’t know if these will help. I used these with a glass beaker and shaking it. I wasn’t nervous and the glass wasn’t effected. However after extensively cleaning and with rubbing alcohol I just didn’t notice a difference hardly. I’m sure they helped to an extent but I’m just not blown away

So simple and so effective
I had a wine decanter that had an unsightly burgundy tint from the many bottles of cabernet poured into it. No matter what I tried (soapy water, vinegar, baking soda) nothing did much to the stain. Stumbled across these and thought seriously? Than I read the reviews, asked a question to owners, and ordered. First caution, the jar is very small. About 1.5" in diameter, and about 1" tall. When they arrived I put some warm water and a splash of vinegar into my decanter along with the Flying Saucers and started shaking/swirling. Immediately I saw improvement. A few more shaking/swirling sessions and it looks like new. I suspect the vinegar was completely unnecessary. Poured the Flying Saucers into a mesh strainer, rinsed them in hot water, let them dry, and poured them back into their container for when I need them again. Hard to believe these work, but they do a GREAT job.

So-so at best
Maybe I tried to clean something a little too dirty (inside a blown glass piece with a narrow neck), but didn't come close to completely cleaning the glass. I had to buy some of the bottle brushes and bend them to fit inside. These also tend to come out of the 'thing' you are cleaning so you need to make darned sure they don't get into your garbage disposal. They seem to have a limited ability to clean, probably good for light grunge.

Great cleaning tool
I use these to clean out water bottles and Growlers sometimes there's leftover sediments that seems to stick to the glass and steel these things strip everything off perfectly definitely recommend getting a small strainer to catch every one of these when you pour them back out but these work amazing would highly recommend it to anybody needs to clean something that's glass or Steel in hard otherwise clean

OMG incredible!!!
The best thing ever for cleaning hard water mineral deposits from inside narrow neck bottles and vases! Works even better than I expected (which was pretty high based on all the reviews. I don’t just hand out five stars, a product has to be better than expected and generally outstanding and something I highly recommend - these cleaning flying saucers are all that! Note: these are tiny, much smaller than I had perceived before ordering.

Perfect
They do exactly what I need them to do, they clean my decanter very well. Also seems to do a decent job on my stainless travel mugs.

Does the job
Cleans very well. Only improvement would be to have the beads chained together to prevent loss in the event of a spill

Three Stars
they are ok, but I think a bendy brush would likely work way better
