I never read product review! She loves it, but that's all she was eating!
And when I say suddenly, I put flea n tick meds on her, we have no fleas above 3,500 ft, but my only outside cat get ticks from deer and she had a severe skin allergy.Well, she was fine, but I put on flea n tick meds and she didn't appreciate that so she struggled, and ran, it got all over and I saw herI was told by my vet to get percription food, she hated so she said, feed her whatever she will eat. She would eat anything and was told hydration is very important..I saw the reviews if they won't eat it, doesn't mean it bad, I had to spice up food with baby food. Pureed chicken and broth beechnut is the best.( and her cat fountain) it's wetter. So I got her this cause if you Google best non percription food for kidney disease, this came up.She likes chicken and tilapia, eats 1/2 then returns for more. She's doing much better, even playing like a kitten.I suggest all you bad reviewers try the mixed cans and see what they like BFF( as toppers) baby food I don't think is better and those for KD. Pate for kidney is best. But thick. She loves the gravy, but leaves the strips of chicken of the wet kind so i mixed them. Now I don't know what to add after reading this..its been weeks since i wrote this, she's not doing better. I'm so upset.im trying everthing!.She loves them, but she got worse slowly. I'm freaked out now.I feed her pro plan hydro cara 50% more hydration, but she likes it plain. even add baby food to everthing she doesn't like but a little goes a long way. It's like soup. Hyro care and baby food is yummy for her.Propane flori flora or something, I have 3 cats on me, prebiotic and stuff for KD or older cats i saw. I was mixing forze10.This is the product review! I didn't read! I was still mixing with old food. What am I supposed to add, they don't say!!!This food is not complete and balanced and should not be fed as the only meal to cats on an everyday basis. Consult your veterinarian about how to fit this food into your cat's diet. Feed according to the age, size, and activity level of you rcat. If fed alone, feed 1 OZ for each pound of bodyweight daily, best fed in multiple feedings throughout the day. Your cat shoudl have access to clean, fresh water. Refrigerate after opening.NICE TO KNOW KNOW! Vet says KD percription food but she hates it. She said, as long as she's eating well. That didn't help.

Great low phosphorus food
My cats enjoyed the four flavors included in the variety pack. Two were a pate/paste and two were broth-based. My one cat has refused to eat pate before, but she enjoyed both of the flavor options here. There is a bit of a smell, but it's not any stronger than with other cat foods. From what I can tell, the food is high quality and my cats eat it without issue.

Picky elderly cat would eat this
Our old cat with kidney problems would eat this food. It wasn't his favorite, but he would have only eaten temptations treats if given the chance. It was one of three wet foods he would eat in addition to dry food we had sitting out for him all the time. He has since passed away, but lived to be 20 years old. I've offered this to 6 other cats and only one of them really likes it. I like the simple, clean list of ingredients and how it is tailored to cats with kidney issues.

BEWARE: ADDICTIVE !
I have a soon to be 19yr old cat, who was going down hill rapidly 2 1/2 months ago. He has been on the famous brands prescription renal diets (canned and dry) for the past 5 years although he was in very very early stages of renal failure...maybe stage 1. He was on the food because I had 4 of his siblings and all had varying degrees if renal failure. The other 3 have passed in the last 2 years....from cancers, not renal failure, so I'm left with one. Although renal food may cause a loss of muscle mass which is sad to see, it did control or stall the renal failure. My boy has several medical problems so when he started failing, getting him to eat became impossible causing him to lose even more weight ...to skin and bones. He was only in Stage II of renal failure due to the strict diet. It really upset me seeing him lose weight almost daily. I would pet him and only feel bones. On my last vet visit, in addition to adding another medicine, the vet said give him anything he wanted to eat in order to keep the liver working and get him to gain weight. He was really on the edge of giving up and he was so weak. I decided to try Weruva Phosphate controlled food. OMG....the cat hasn't stopped eating this after the 1st taste!! He devours this food. It seems to be a very clean protein quality food. It's not cheap, but neither are the ingredients, but neither was the prescription food which had less quality ingredients in my opinion. In the past 2 months, he has filled-out and now I do not feel a boney old cat, but an elderly cat with nice coat and appropriate weight. He was 10.2 lbs earlier in the year, then a few months ago went down to 7.9lbs. He is now 9.2lbs. That's a lot. This food says it is only a supplemental feeding, not for all the time, because it is very low phosphate and doesn't meet the FDA cat food requirements. So I have ordered the regular Weruva also, the lowest protein I can find, and add a phosphate binding powder to the food (important for renal failure treatment). Hopefully his next blood test and renal values in 3 months, will look okay after giving him this food for several months. By then he will be 19 yrs old. All I know is that this food saved him at the time, and gave him something delicious to eat again. He demands this food now....and for now, I'm happy to give him the calories he loves, although I may have an impossible time if I have to go back to a straight prescription renal diet.

Great low-phosphorus food for cats with Chronic Kidney Disease, but only if they'll eat it.
Weruva foods in general, are high quality, if not a bit on the expensive side. If someone is buying this WX low phosphorus food they are usually buying for a cat with Chronic Kidney Disease. As with most CKD cats, finding a diet they like can be challenging. Because these foods are made with egg whites in order to keep the phosphorus low, that may be a deterrent for some cats, including mine. I bought every variety of Wx Phos Focused foods but neither of my cats would eat it. In general, I have had good experience with Weruva, but unfortunately this food is a no-go for me.

Safe your money, DONT BUY IT
DONT BOTHER. Neither of my cats would touch it. I tried giving it to my dog and she EATS EVERYTHING including cat and horse poop, she wouldn’t even touch it. Total waste of money I didn’t have to spend in the first place.
