Good and cheap
This knife it pretty good, not quite sure how long the blade holds an edge because only use it a few times so far. Handle is nice and comfortable doesn’t slip.

Nice quality
Nice quality, and does the job. We use it for more than filleting our fish.

OK for a cheap knife, grind marks dont match up and one side of blade is not sharp
Ordered this knife as a backup knife to use when cleaning fish as my main knife gets dull quick and i wanted to have a backup to use when a really sharp one is needed.Knife arrived in a decent package and had no major issues, it had a knife sharpener with the V-notch blade, and a sheath to keep it in when not in use.The major issues start when i actually looked at the blade itself and found the grind marks and overall sharpening job looks like it was done by a blind man. The entire left side of the blade was all but totally missed by the grinder and offers a totally flat profile up to a nice square edge. Only the very very tip during the final inch of tapper, and at the handle on the exposed stop nub, got any grinding on this side of the knife at all.Flipping the knife to the 'good' side was not much better in terms of quality and consistency the edge was at least partially ground on this side but was done at an angle and had more grinding at the tip then at the handle edge of the blade and wobbled a bit along the belly of the blade.Overall i wasn't expecting this to be a uber nice Japanize Sushi Chef quality knife, but expected a decent knife out the gate that may not hold the best edge or wears down fast.... but this crap was not even able to split a hair directly from the box yet alone after some use.The final blow for this set was when it came to the knife sharpener that was included. Sure i could pull out my stones and re-profile the blade edge and get it sharp, but i was looking for a throw and go fish cleaning knife i will be using not always next to my bench top sharpener, so the included v-notch touchup tool was a good idea. I, stupidly, assumed the blade grind would match the included sharpener... however that was silly of me given the situation so far.The included sharpener was not able to re-profile the blade given one side of the knife was totally unground and was a square edge still for the majority of the blade length. I tried for 100 passes before i realized so much metal needed to be removed before the tool would even remotely come close to touching the cutting edge that i gave up and threw it back into the bottom of the junk box.Now that my fishing season is over here in Ohio, i had some time to clean up my gear and get prepped for next season when i recently came across this knife again. I had more time on my hands so decided to put it on the bench stones and got a proper 22* bevel ground in and then polished it out to a mirror finish. FINALLY the knife was able to split a few of my thin girly hairs and looked like it might be usable - however after all that work the blade just did not do a very good job of holding an edge and quickly lost its razor sharp edge after just cleaning up a few steaks and porkchops on the cutting board.Overall the knife looked really cool, and had some serious hope it would turn out OK, but the knife i personally received missed the quality control check and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I didnt get around to really looking at it after the return window closed, so i just chalked it up to a lesson learned and tried a different knife. I ended up going with am electric fillet knife and a more robust fillet knife to clean up things and have been way happier ever since!Keep in mind this is only MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and reflects the product i was shipped! I saw a lot of decent reviews out there before buying it and really had hopes it would turn out OK, but hopefully if you do order it you get a good one and not a defect like i did.

Bring on the fish!!
The media could not be loaded. Fishing season is upon us, and we've been in deserpate need of a new fillet knife. This one has a rubberized handle so it's we easy to grip, and it's SHARP! It's got a thin, flexible blade like you need in a good fillet knife, and the sheath kind of clips on, and stays put until you push the little catch thingy to remove it. It also came with a small pocket sharpner. A very good fillet knife for the price.
