The de-facto kitchen helper in Europe
I am Italian: everyone has a Thermomix in Italy, we call it Bimby. This is also true in Germany, France, Spain, and most of the places I've visited in Europe. If you go into any kitchen, you'll probably find one. You would expect a high-end and very expensive machine like this to be found collecting dust only in posh, boring kitchens - but for the Bimby, it's not the case.Europeans make a long-term investment in this appliance because it will give you back hundreds or thousands of your work hours over a lifetime. And you see everyone using it. Vorwerk is the brand that gave us vacuum cleaners that cost a kidney but will work for 30 years. Same with the Thermomix, it will work forever. All the cheap copycats? Suit yourself! This thing will make you an absolutely perfect preparation that would normally need your constant attention, such as risotto or polenta - the basics, but it can also achieve high-cuisine tricks. I have played a bit with the "modernist" books and the Bimby made it possible. Please, join our cult! :)

Great machine - not this Amazon seller
Wtf people- purchase from main website where it cost hundreds less! Plus they offer free shipping and extra gifts. This seller is gouging!

Excellent but can buy elsewhere for $400 less
This is the best kitchen appliance I ever bought. I got mine through a direct sales person. It replaces my cooking pots, blender, scale, whisk, rice cooker, grinder and yogurt maker. This item is way overpriced on Amazon. I recommend you find a Thermomix direct sales consultant and get it for about $400 less. It is worth every dollar!

When it works, it's magic. But just too many glitches with the screen, software and recipes.
Good news:It's a very powerful appliance--in some ways, the best of its kind. It really does everything, all in one place: chopping, blending, cooking. It's reliable, versatile and not, as you might fear, gimmicky. You will make use it for a long time.Soups and sauces have never been easier. You can whip up a hollandaise sauce on 10 minutes notice. It even measures out the ingredients for you as you add them!Bad news:The touch screen is not very responsive and is often hard to use. The recipe database (confusingly named "cookidoo") is separated into regions. Meaning, even if you subscribe, you can NOT access recipes from other countries. What is the point of chopping the community into silos? (For example, there is not a single recipe for beef bourguignon in the US database. Really?)

Expensive, but love it!!!!
I purchased the TM5 about 2 months ago, and it rapidly became my favorite gadget. I LOVE the Cookidoo recipe book that works via wifi and being able to access recipes from around the world. Having the display walk you through step-by-step is wonderful, especially given the built in scale allows you to skip all of the measuring cups and such and saving a mess. Recipes made thus far have been fantastic! No more standing over a stove to stir bechemal sauce. Sauteeing meat then finishing the bolgonese sauce all in the same container without stirring was fantastic! Milled some flour for bread- it works well enough, but do prefer my Mockmill 200 for that purpose. I have not used my Vitamix since getting this and plan on selling it. I use this every day, usully multiple times per day. Chopping onions, and making dessert seems to be my most frequent use. You can have custard done perfectly in 8 minutes flat! I am having a ton of fun expanding my recipes used at home. I would buy this unit again and again no question. If you are having a hard time with the price- this does so many functions you can skip a ton of extra gadgets cluttering your counters. This thing steams, no need for a rice cooker, mills grain, blender, food processor and you can cook in it. Do not underestimate the glory of not having to stand over a pan stirring for 30 minutes- this does it for you! Love love love this thing.

BE CAREFUL!!!! Always buy a Thermomix through a consultant!, always $1499 +tax
The TM6 costs $1499+tax. A consultant will give you a DeMO, offer you free shipping and also, by hosting a cooking presentation you can choose from amazing rewards.I got a beautiful extra bowl and I always get weekly invitations to free cooking classes and updates about the cooking program.Nothing compares to the TM6 and to everything that is included with it.❤️ My consultant is awesome!

Overpriced on Amazon
Three stars because of the price on Amazon. I have been thinking of buying one at home since I meet the thermomix at my cousin's back in Spain 5 years ago. Now after lots of therapy and self auto-help, I got over the high price and ready to buy one. But today I realize that here on Amazon the TM5 is way overpriced as much as 400us$... Just for reference, price should be around 1200Eu or 1000Ł (uk).Definitively I will go around to buy it cheaper somewhere else... ;)
