This psyllium husk powder was offered at a great sale price, and it arrived quickly. The first thing I noticed when I opened the pouch was that it has a different texture than the "name brand" I have used for years. It is more like a fine dust while the other is more granular, like tiny little crystals. While one spoonful of the other stuff would quickly create a thick gel once stirred into liquid, a spoonful of this powder just thickens the liquid a bit, almost like it is less concentrated. It is unsweetened and unflavored, just like the other stuff. I have not changed the daily amount that I take (nowhere near the recommended 9000 mg), and so far I notice no differences in how my body reacts to it.

Just got this today but cannot use it. When I opened the package, I noticed that the fiber was clumpy looking and immediately expected that moisture caused the clumping. Most fiber products are very dry and powdery looking. The product would not mix with water no matter how hard I tried. I tried adding the product to a dry glass followed by water - that did not work. Next, I added water to a glass and sprinkled the powder on top and that did not work. No matter how I tried to mix this product with water all I got was cloudy water with what looked like TERDS floating on top. The floaters were sized from about 1/16 to 3/8 inch and no amount of stirring would break them up. Smashing the floaters against the side of the glass just lead to clumps stuck to the side of the glass and the spoon.Stay away!Update: Since this item is Not returnable, I did a little more investigation and now believe that the moisture that was trapped in this product was not due to a leakage package but to a fault in the manufacturing process. Likely, one of the final processes is drying the product in a Kiln-like device that stirs and dries at the same time. Doubtless that this process was not completed or not done at all with this particular lot. The Lot No. is 09P0122; EXP: 04/2024. The manufacturer should replace all purchases of this particular lot.

Update: ok if you mix it in just water and use only 1 scoop it’s ok, but do drink it immediately. I updated my review from 2 starts to 4First time using it so I’ll update my review if it gets better. I used a milk frother to stir it into chocolate milk but it’s very clumpy, with every sip there are clumps in your mouth it’s not great. Only positive it that it doesn’t have any flavor

It's psyllium powder - not very interesting, but it does what it's supposed to do, it's cheaper than metamucil, and it's good for baking too.

Unlike the "name brand" product, this has zero flavor. It's not only a good replacement for a dietary supplement, it's also useful in baking. And it's a decent value compared to what's sold in stores.My 4 star (vs 5) rating is because geez, they raised the price by 20% in the last month. I understand that there's inflation, but 20% in a month? I'd go for a subscribe-and-save, but there's no discount there either.
