Well built, although it lacks where it counts. Pretty solid setup, with decent quality hardware and wood, but overall it doesn’t hold anything I work on terribly snug. Usually I am working with layers under a half inch in width, total, and it seems to struggle to do it’s job while stitching. Even in using scrap leather to fill in space between my project pieces and the clamping arms, I still experience a fair amount of wiggle and give while stitching. This results in the occasional adjustment having to be made while stitching. Serviceable for the price, but wish I had just spent a little more on something with tighter mechanisms.

Good value product for the price. Just learning and not ready to invest into high dollar tools. This is much more study than I expected

Very sturdy and light. I use this for all things metal and wood while working leather of course. It has held up well and shows no signs of wear as of yet (2 months in). I am not gentle with my tools and this one will last for some time. Sometimes you get much more than you pay for and this one is it. :)

The clamping mechanism is very flimsy, which makes the pony useless. I had to replace the clamp.

Very nice mallet for leatherwork. Great value for the price.

This is a great pony for the price - comfortable and good tension on the clamp. The only problem is that they didn't include the screw and nut that holds the base and clamp together.

For the cost this stitching pony has worked well. It is pretty big though so if you plan on taking it anywhere be aware of that. The edges are a little sharp, so I sanded them down and added some leather on the tops.
