I have two Golden Retrievers, the younger one at 2 years old can be quite vocal at times.After about a week of utilizing the owl in the living room she has really become less vocal in that space.I found that when turning the owl on it plays the high frequency for a few seconds. Using this I turn the knob till I find the setting that makes both dogs perk their heads up.The owl itself is quite nice, I was surprised to find the rubber base and the lanyard for hanging.Initially I was a little worried that the owl did not respond to some of the quiet barks, but then realized that my dogs quiet barks were about as loud as the neighbor dogs barks that come into the house from the outside.It is helpful that the status LED on the owl lights up red when it picks up the barking, otherwise I’d really question if it was working or not.The led also blinks blue ever few seconds to let you know it is on. The first time I had it on was in the evening, inside the house and found the blue led was really bright, to the point I had to reposition the owl outside of my line of sight. However, I did appreciate how bright the blue led was the next day when the owl was outside on a sunny day, I doubt I would have been able to see the led if it wasn’t the way it is.So far its working well and I’m quite happy that this ultrasonic distraction Is working, really didn’t want to have to use one of the zapper anti-bark collars.

I've bought many a bark breaker and this one is on the low end, try to get ones with 9v battery.

My husband and I have tried several anti-bark devices before, including collars and ultrasonic devices, and this is the first to actually work for our large dog. We have a 2 year old European Doberman that barks loudly if anyone walks or drives past our house, and this device has successfully deterred him from barking. You really have to follow directions, as it does not work well if it’s placed above the dog, such as on the counterop. We had immediate results once we placed it at his height level on a shelf near his dog bed. He seems to be annoyed at the effects of the ultrasonic waves when he barks, and after a few days he simply started to watch people walk by rather than bark! Our baby can finally sleep through a full nap without being woken up by him!

Dogs responded great first but now it doesn't affect them and keep them from barking stupidly. Sad, too, because we bought 2 more after the first one arrived, hopeful it worked. Not the best choice for anti-bark deterrent.

I've tried to use this. Unfortunately, it emits the sound even when there's no barking or any other sound in the background. Three of my dogs got so they completely ignored it. My poor 4th dog, it drove him crazy. He got so he would sit in one place and shake any time it was on. Obviously, I can't use it. Did not work at all for me.

Two negligent dog owners moved next door with 3 disgusting yappy mutts. They put in a doggy door so the dogs barked day & night for hours, even 1, 2, 3 a.m. Twice they asked me if the barking was a problem. Twice I replied YES, gently suggesting they take out the doggy door and/or get bark collars on their pets. They did NOTHING. So I did.Bought this Teptec Dog Barking Control Device because it's rechargeable (no batteries) and has 3 settings for large, medium, small dogs. Hung it on a tree branch, facing down into their yard as our homes share a backyard wall. The cute green owl works GREAT, the mutts stop after 3-5 barks, then quietly yelp once in protest & run back into the house.This device survived near freezing temperatures, severe thunderstorms, dust storms, high winds, heat over 115F in the past 10 months. If necessary I WILL buy another one when this one dies, as it works so well and I like it that much.LESSONS LEARNED: When the barking gets out of hand again, it's time to recharge the device OR switch the frequency. These canines are medium size dogs, but the large & small dog settings (1 & 3) work better than setting 2. I covered up the red/blue blinking light nose with duct tape as it's very bright at night & I don't want to draw attention to it.THANK YOU Teptec for this product, am sleeping far better at night & my days are less stressed with noise pollution!

Worked for 2 days then dogs started barking again

Not sure why or how people are saying it works. I tried all levels and it never did anything. Now it's beyond the time frame of return so I'm stuck with a useless ornament.***Update***After my poor review of product, someone by the name of Tony reaches out to offer a refund and is apologetic and says his job is on the line so I respond saying it's that's great customer service. That was back on July 20. He emailed me 3x to help, I'm thinking they want me to remove the bad review. Well he ghosted me and there was no follow up and no refund. Very unprofessional. He should have never reached out only to do nothing about it.
