Very decent beginners skates
I bought a pair of these for use in roller derby training camp, and I'm about to purchase a second pair. Considering the low price and what I've put them through, they're a pretty good value! These are my impressions after 5 months of heavy use:-The boot's fine. I was between sizes and ordered up to an 8. They are starting to smell somewhat...nothing a little spray won't take care of! One of the speed straps came apart after a couple of months but duct tape took care of that. The skates don't come with toe-guards or reinforced toe leather but despite that showed very little wear with regular skating on our smooth-concrete practice floor. But after a couple of hard-core knee-falls and slides on asphalt the leather over the toe wore off, and the right boot partially separated from the truck; again, nothing that a little duct tape didn't fix.-No problems with the trucks.-The toe-stops are a bit high, but they're big, which you may or may not like. If I could ever get the screw that holds them on loosened I'd put a couple of washers on there to bring em down.-The wheels, as stated, are 58mm wide. I have no idea of their hardness, and can't find the info anywhere online! They're okay though a bit skittery on smooth concrete floors, great on polyurethane gym floors, and horribly rough on outside pavement.-The Abec-3 bearings...at first I did not love them, but after a couple of thorough cleanings, I respect their cheap durability. The set was a mixed bag of good and less-than-good bearings. When they're dirty you'll know it -- everyone will because they get pretty noisy. But they do clean up well. I'm actually happier with the Abecs than I am with a second pair of Qubes I bought. My intention with this second pair is to upgrade the wheels for my indoor skating, and use my original, taped-up pair for outdoors. Hope this helps, folks!

Good starter skate
So I got these months ago, so I've spent a good amount of time of them. After some adjustments the boots felt great, like wearing regular shoes. My first time out I found the quality several times better then the rental skates I had been using, but after 2 times out I got all that I could from them and replaced the bearings. To sum up heres a little checklist of the components and their quality.Wheels- Not bad, but not great, they have to be cleaned alot or else they can slip when you're pushingBearings- very sluggish, replacing them is recommendedTrucks- They work fine, adjusted them once to where I like them and haven't had to adjust them yetPlate- I'm fairly certain its chromed plastic, they feel cheap BUT they've been able to hold me 330 lbs self while ripping through sharp turns at high speed.Toe stop- Works fine if you can put enough pressure on itBoot- comfortable even when tight, though I added a cheap soft insert for extra comfort.

Great starter skate!
I was thinking about joining a roller derby team, but I grew up rollerblading and was not very comfortable with skating! I tried on at a pair of the same brand at my local Academy but they only had them with the lime green accents which made me want to barf, so I decided to order them online. I am a woman who usually wears between an 8 1/2 and 9 shoe size. Size 7 fits me perfectly in men's. Trust me I tried on the 7 1/2 at the store and they were just too big, which is weird because 8 1/2 in women's has never been too big for me. If anything I have to go UP to a 9. Oh yeah-if you couldn't already tell- I am a freak about buying things so I looked like every possible physical store and online place and at the time these were the best bang for my buck as a starter skate. I do enjoy them. I go skate every day now. These are the kind that have ridges in the wheels. I guess it's kind of hard to tell this from the advertisement.

amazing quads for the price!
I got these 5 months ago, and they've held up perfectly since! I don't derby, and I prefer speed and control so I swapped out the horrid Abec 3's (oh my god they're so slow) with some nice Bones Reds xD (I prefer skateboard bearings because they can sure take a beating) and I took the toe stops off (they're huge and annoying when you turn, and it's worth messing up these cheap wheels with t stops) but other than that, the plates and trucks are cool (although I wish they were put in with flat head screws so I could swap it out) and the wheels held up really well, as well as the boot. So all and all, these skates are Definitely worth the 60 bucks ya gotta dish out for them

Beginner Derby Skates
I purchased these skates for outdoor beginner flat track derby. They have been quite sufficient to the task, however, TOE GUARDS ARE A NECESSITY. Basically without the leather flap toe guards (they hook under your toe stopper and go up and over the toe and tie through the laces) the boot will be worn through to your skin within a matter of days. Protect your investment and get the toe guards regardless of which skates you buy. Also, be aware that skates are ordered one to one and a half sizes below your normal women's shoe size. For instance, I wear a women's 9.5 shoe and wear a men's 8 in these skates. This is standard for all skates.

good fit slow roll
Shipped quick thanks Amazon. New Rollerderby GS 3000 skates looked great, just like picture. Size was true to fit if not even a little big, which was great. I have wide feet and they fit well, are comfortable for a 3-4 hour skate session. That is the good. You will want to take these skates to a rink and have them adjusted, the trucks are tight out of the box, a minor loosening and I was turning in them just fine. Notice the wheels are grooved, so they can be used in or outdoor. They are not eurethane wheels so they are not fast on indoor wood or concrete rinks. The bad part is the bearings are listed as ABEC 5, but do not spin like a good Riedell Abec 3. Even after loosening the wheel nuts, you only get a turn or 2 of free spin when you roll them with your fingers. At times the bearings even feel like they are binding on corners. These are good basic skates and look good. They are a good value, but certainly not competition speed. Would have liked better bearings, which I may fit them with for about $26.
