This is an important DVD, and this is a 5 star rating.There are lots and lots of Qigong videos out there (and that is a good thing). The Healer Within Medical Qigong DVD stands apart in that it includes multiple variations on the Qigong movements which enables the student to expand the Practice, as one grows in skill, to create a more vigorous and challenging set of movements. This DVD bridges the "Beginner to Advanced Qigong Practice Gap".Summary of Table of Contents. 1) Ringing the Bell, Short and Long versions, 2)Flowing Motion, Short and Long versions, 3)Breathing, Short and Long versions. The first three sections presentthe “simple” or “basic” Qigong movements and then expanded movements are included for more advanced students. In many Youtube videos, only the basic movements are presented,this can get boring quickly. Or, in advanced videos, the beginning student can become lost quickly ("where do my hands go now?"). What is new in this DVD are variations in the forms are included so the student can "grow" their own practice as they progress. I Love the work of Roger Jahnke. This video it well done. The movements are effective and easy to follow. Be sure to read his material. If you are into this kind of thing (which you should be if you have healing needs) you will not be able to find a better teacher and leader. I wish you well in your search for health. Make the choice to use this material.

I really enjoy this DVD, i just wish there was the option to 'play all short' & 'play all' long exercises separatelyit plays through short then long, going through each exercise, short, long, short, long, etci appreciate that there are both short and long variationsrelaxing exercises, the teacher's voice is relaxing

I had a chance to test this when I was healing from a dog attack on my lower leg and couldn’t stand.The relaxation response generated by these healing practices helped me to recover from my injury faster. This is a beautifully filmed DVD; it’s clear and concise. Dr. Jahnke makes both Qi Gong theory and its practice accessible for everyone.

I have been practicing Qigong for a few years now. I got this DVD (and access to the associated book) because I am interested in the medical aspects of Qigong.I liked the book, or at least some aspects of it - I did appreciate how the book tries to explain how each movement affects different systems of the body. The DVD is a welcome demonstration to the technique, as unfortunately there is only that amount of detail that one can get in describing exercises and movements in a book. I was very happy to see a demonstration of the ear massage technique. That being said, I was disappointed with this DVD for two reasons: first, it only covers very few movements, and most of them are very basic, so if you have had any Qigong experience, you will probably have seen most of these movements before. The second reason was the speed of the DVD - probably aimed at following along, the DVD keeps at the same movement for a long time, way more than what would have been needed to explain the movement. The DVD includes a follow-along practice session where movements flow at a way more reasonable speed though.I still gained some valuable knowledge by watching the DVD; and even though I liked the book way more, the value the DVD adds to it is appreciated.
