I bought this top hat not for a costume but for an arts and crafts project. So for anyone interested in using it for the same purpose, I recommend it!The hat is sturdy, not easily bendable. If you have a pair of heavy duty scissors you can cut into it. Also the clips on the bottom are super glued on really well, which is good for its original intended purpose lol But you can rip the clips off if need be.

I needed this hat for a lefty Halloween cosplay I was making for my daughter and it was the perfect size and it stated put.

The top of the "stovepipe" section is smaller than the base, so it is slightly conical and looks like a pilgrim hat, not a top hat. I guess if you want to add a mini gold buckle and go for the Mayflower fascinator look (always a hit), this is for you...
