After the package was opened the book inside is dirty and does not look new from the outside.

I bought this book having seen my sister with a copy. My mum bought herself a copy too. Great detail for new and experienced bonsai growers. Really good photos.

30 years ago I worked for a large Retail Chain that had a garden centre. On the reduced trolley I spotted a rather sad looking specimen of a Bonsai Tree in a little china pot. It was on the verge of dying but I brought it home & managed to turn it around & it lasted a good 3 years before it eventually withered away.Maybe if this book had crossed my path back then I might have been able to keep that beautiful little tree alive🤨.Since that time I have had a soft spot for the little horticultural wonders but have been reluctant to give owning another a try ..... Well that will definitely change now. 😉👍This 140 page DK book by Peter Warren gives you the information you need to choose the correct tree for your environment .The first 20 of so pages explain about the origins of the Bonsai tree the styles of tree along with which pot to choose.Next you move on the the planning & buying stages .... What tree ?, Where will it be grown? In what soil ? e.t.cIt then goes on to tell you how to prune & wire the tree for the best structure, All about repotting & then general maintenance.There is also a section on Bugs & Baddies that will try to kill off your beautiful tree ..... read this & take note !Trust me it is NOT easy growing a Bonsai tree, They do need a lot of care ..... I think I was lucky with mine all those years ago & I have a lot of deciding on what tree I would like to nurture & how I would like it to end up (Hopefully !!)At under £10 .. this is a great read & will give you the confidence to have a try at growing & maintaining your own little tree.... Buy it & give it a go . They are ALWAYS a talking point in any home Guaranteed !Hope this helps .... & Good Luck !

This book is from the DK ‘Grow’ series. It a softbacked book which contains 144 pages.My eyes always light up when I see a book published by Dorling Kindersley (DK), as to me they are undoubtedly the number one publisher for reference books. Their books are always informative, and beautifully presented in a way which makes them easy to understand for a beginner, but also contain all the information for anyone more experienced. This book on Bonsai is no exception.The book begins with an introduction into the origins of Bonsai, it then takes you through the various styles of tree, choosing and shaping your tree with a list of tools and equipment needed to get you started, through to maintaining a healthy tree and troubleshooting. Towards the end of the book there is a species directory divided into deciduous trees, conifers, flowering and indoor trees. The final section focuses on “Bonsai projects” to get you started.When I was younger I did have a Bonsai tree which I pestered my parents for at the garden centre. Sadly it didn’t survive, but had a book like this been around at the time, I may well still have it !It really is a lovely guide with a wealth of information which is wonderfully illustrated throughout with photos and drawings. As far as I can see it contains everything the budding bonsai enthusiast needs to be able to choose, care for and maintain their bonsai. I will definitely be attempting to grown my own bonsai after reading this excellent book. This book is excellent, it runs you through all the basics and more , from planning what Bonsai tree is right for you , guiding you through the types of pot base to choose from , the tools and equipment needed to look after your Bonsai tree and how to care for it and prune it.The photographs are excellent too , it's a really easy book to pick up and browse with a cup of tea , definitely a good little guide book for beginners looking to get into the hobby.I'm a complete beginner, I've been interested in Bonsai trees since watching karate kid as a child , I now want to get into the hobby and grow a tree from scratch.I believe this book will guide me really well and runs you through each step with good information and pictures along the way.I like the last part of the book that shows you a lot of different species of Bonsai trees and gives you good information too.The book is well set out with good diagrams and photographs, but it's easy to follow , its a perfect companion for someone like me just getting started.This book has been made to be easy to follow step by step , it's a great book for beginners and expert advice for people who already own Bonsai trees.
