Withstands strong winds
I live in a particularly windy area near the Red Rock Mountains and the wind can come up fast and strong. The stand that we purchased with a brand new, expensive umbrella couldn’t do the job…One wind lifted the umbrella and stand, which overturned the glass-top table and bent the umbrella pole beyond use. A very expensive wind.So we purchased a new table and new umbrella — and this stand. It is a very wide base made of solid steel, which gives it much greater stability, yet it is very low profile so chairs (and feet) still fit comfortably around it beneath the table. Two tightening screws secure the umbrella more effectively. It is so sleek that it more or less disappears under the table…after all, who really wants to notice the base?Highly recommended for dinner size tables. I only wish they offered it in different colors!

Live Where It's Windy! This will stay put!
I live where the wind blows almost constantly. This is heavy and a size that fits under our heavy deck table and allows us to put the umbrella through the tabletop hole and not have to worry about the wind tipping or taking off with any of it. Just what we were looking for!

Excellent build except it needs a cap.
This is an excellent product. It is powder coated to assure it won't rust, except for the inside of the tube that holds the umbrella. If you remove the umbrella (as I do for the end of season) and leave this base outdoors, rain will get in the top and will rust the base. I have placed small plastic bags with rubber bands to hold in place to keep rainwater out. It would be a good idea if the manufacturer included a rubber cap that fit over the base to keep rain out.

Useful for one year. Once pole is rusted, umbrella tube base holder will fail
Well worth the time the umbrella stand worked. Did not do my due diligence to put away during inclement rainy season weather. Seemed to hold up until the winds eventually caused the panel keeping the pole holder mounted to the base to fail. Bought another and now will put away properly before the rains and rust cause issue and hopefully the base will last longer.
