The Hunchback of Notre Dame II

I agree that most of the Direct To Video sequels Disney released are really bad, but not all of them are, and this is one of them. I haven't found any reason to hate this one. It's not as dark as the first one and it's too sunny and happy. So what? How does something not being all dark and mature make it not good? Besides I think it's better that way. The animation quality is inferior. Since when does the animation quality determine how good or bad something is? That's like those people who think graphics are what makes a video game good. There's several old cartoons with horrible animation that are great! The animation here is of at least Disney Afternoon quality (eg DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck). It's not bad at all. There's animation that's a lot worse out there. Some other reviewer said that people who pan this should really look past all the flaws, and I agree. This is a very heartwarming and uplifting sequel. I really liked the newcomers to the cast. Esmeralda and Phoebus's son Zephyr is so adorable, and the friendship between him and Quasi is too cute! Especially that song they do together called "I'd Stick With You". I'll get to the music later. I'm surprised they got Tom Hulce, Kevin Kline and Demi Moore to reprise their roles as Quasimodo, Phoebus and Esmeralda. They usually don't do that, and just hire sound alikes. Now for the story. A circus comes to town, and Quasi falls for a girl named Madelline, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. The villain in this movie is a guy named Sarousch whom wants to steal the town's most prized bell La Fidele. People say is inferior to Frollo. Well I don't agree. Frollo was such a jerk. I don't like how Sarousch treated Madelline, but at least he wasn't as much of a jerk as Frollo, and was likeable to some extent. Plus he's voiced by David from Spinal Tap. \m/ Now on to the music:Even though it lacked Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, I felt the songs here were really good. I already mentioned how adorable I thought "I'd Stick With You" was, but my personal favorite would have to be "Fa-La-La-La Fallen In Love". The only real complaints I have with the film are that it's too short and the ending's nothing to write home about. But that's it. Those of you who haven't seen this yet, I urge you to not take someone else's word for it, and look past it's flaws so you can come up with a more honest and understandable opinion. I really don't think it's bad at all.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame II is one hour and eight minutes long and was released direct to video on March 19, 2002. This did not live up to The Hunchback of Notre Dame. There are five songs too many in the movie and most of them could of been left out. Basically the movie takes places several years in the future. Esmeralda and Phoebus are married and have a son named Zephyr. Zephyr is either six or eight years old. Quasimodo is now a respected member of the community. One day the circus comes to town and Sarousch is the owner and an evil magician who runs the circus. Sarousch has a young female assistant named Madellaine whom he want her to seduced Quasimodo into telling him where the La Fidèle, a giant bell with jewels in it, so he can steal it. At first Madellaine agrees to do it, but as she grows to like Quasimodo and wants out of the plan. Sarousch convinces her otherwise and leads Quasimodo away from the bell and Sarousch and his men steal La Fidèle. When Captain Phoebus confronts Sarousch about a stolen necklace, Sarousch says that Madellaine stole the necklace. This is a ploy so Sarousch and his men can sneak out of town with the bell. Captain Phoebus arrests Madellaine for the crime of theft. Captain Phoebus learns that La Fidèle has been stolen and Madellaine tells Captain Phoebus that she can lead him to the bell and Sarousch. Captain Phoebus agrees, but let her goes a prisoner with her hands tied. The guards are able to trap Sarousch and his men but, Sarousch has captured Phoebus and Esmeralda son and agrees to only let him go if he is allow to leave town with the bell. Phoebus agrees to Sarousch demand and allows him and his men to escape. Madellaine tells Quasimodo she has a plan to rescue Zephyr and she tells him to trust him. Madellaine, along with Quasimodo help, rescues Zephyr and Sarousch and his men are taken in custody. In the end Quasimodo and Madellaine fall in love. The animation is really poor. Not a worthy sequel to the first film.

Gift for daughter who is on a mission to get every Disney DVD so I helped by buying her over 60 for christmas , it is Disney they do not make bad movies they are all great
