There are four common method of securing a phone in a car: (1) Window suction mount, (2) Air vent clip bracket, (3) Adhesive mount, (4) Weighted dash non-slip mount base. I ended up choosing to use the air vent clip method because it worked better for our situation. POTENTIAL PROBLEMS — I was concerned about this category of mount design because I read various product reviews that mention the vent fins eventually breaking, bending, or being damaged. I notice that vent fins vary in thickness and strength depending on the vehicle. So, I took a bit more time researching available products and decided on this one because it seemed sturdy and the adjustable solid retainer piece seemed well designed. BETTER DESIGN — Something important about this vent mount design is that it has two solid supporting feet to keep the bracket stable, putting less strain on the vent fins. The retainer clip that goes in and holds to the back of the vent fin is easy to extend and tighten. BEST INSTALL — Based on concerns about vent fin damage, I've decided to gently position this mount so the stabilizer feet are in place, and the metal hook retainer gently holds to the back of a vent fin, but I do not tighten the bracket to the max. This is important during use, and also when removing the phone. Rather than pulling hard on the phone trying to separate it from the bracket, which could pull the vent fin assembly out of the dashboard, instead, I use two hands to have one and holding the base and the other pulling on the phone. The weight of the phone helps hold the mount secure. I'm not off-roading or driving over potholes, so I'm not worried about the phone shaking and the bracket falling out. MAGNETS — It's hard to know what the experience of others will be, but the phone I use with the mount is an iPhone 14 Pro Max, so it is a bit heavy. I use a case with an embedded strong magnetic MagSafe ring in the case. I also use a MagSafe magnetic ring holder that allows for pass-through functionality of the MagSafe magnet connection function. As a result, from my experience, my phone holds very securely to this mount. MAGNETIC PHONE HOLDER RING — My magnetic phone holder ring has a stowaway 360-degree adjustable holder ring/loop, so I'm able to easily attach and remove my phone from the holder. I do notice that my phone holder ring tends to stick more securely to the mount than to my phone, so when I remove the phone, the ring stays on the mount. Sometimes that's preferred, other times, if I want to bring the phone holder ring with me, I'll remove it and put it on the phone. CONCLUSION — Due to variations in automotive fan vent fin assemblies, and variation in phones, cases, and accessories, it's possible there's not one perfect mount for everyone's situation. Yet, this unit does seem stable and versatile.

I originally bought one ESR MagSafe Car Mount just to “try it out.” Big mistake. Because it worked too well. Next thing I know, I’m back ordering five more like I’m stocking up for the apocalypse—but make it hands-free. The magnet is STRONG strong. Like, hit-a-pothole-while-grabbing-coffee strong. My phone doesn’t wobble, slide, or attempt a dramatic escape during sharp turns. It stays put, behaving better than most passengers. It clips easily onto the air vent, looks clean (no clunky plastic eyesore), and holds every phone we’ve thrown at it. iPhones? Yes. Samsung? Yes. Random phone with a metal ring? Also yes. Simple, reliable, zero nonsense. No charging built in—and honestly? Fine. I came here for phone stability, not a science project. This mount knows its lane and stays in it. Final verdict: If you’re debating buying one, just save yourself the second Amazon trip and buy multiples now. Apparently that’s what you’re going to do anyway. Highly recommend.

If you have a car with those round, circular air vents, you know how much of a nightmare it is to find a phone mount that doesn't just slide right off. I’ve been using this in my 2013 Rogue for a few weeks now and it's honestly the first one that actually works. I had a different "circular vent" mount before this one, but it was a total pain to install and would still pop off if I hit a bump. This ESR one is a way better design. It was super easy to get on and it hasn’t budged or fallen once, even on some rougher roads. The magnet is really strong too. I’m using a MagSafe-compatible case and the phone snaps right into place and stays there—no sliding or tilting while I’m driving. If you’re tired of the "clippy" style mounts failing on your round vents, just get this one. It’s solid.

My car's front console has very little space to attach cell phone mounts and no flat surfaces. I have been reluctant to use the vent mounts because I don't like that they block air flow. Because this one sits out away from the vent, it still allows a good air flow. The mount is sturdy and well made. The magnet is really strong so the phone stays attached. It is versatile as well, as the hook that attaches to the vents can be rotated to fit any type of vent style. And since it isn't a permanent mount, you can move it between vehicles or take it on vacation to use in a rental car if needed. It also comes with a separate magnetic ring you can attach if you don't have a mag-safe phone or phone cover. The only con I found so far is that it doesn't lock in place when it is mounted. The first time I used it, I accidently bumped it and knocked the mount off the vent when I was putting up my window shade. I had taken the phone down already, preparing to get out of the car, so it was just the mount. But that is something to be aware of. All in all, a good solution for my situation.

My household loves the ESR products. The ESR for MagSafe Car Mount is no different. The screen and camera protectors are inexpensive and perfect - so is the car mount! Light, but with stong magnet and a good quality air vent securing system. Very durable and extremely stable phone hold!

I ordered 2 of these and 1 was defective. I did a return and received a working replacement in 1 day. These come with both an adhesive dash mount and an air-vent mount. I installed using the vent mount in both of my vehicles. These are easy to install and are very sturdy and secure. The magnet is powerful and holds the phone securely. I could not be happier. Edited to add: since the magnet is so strong, if you’re not careful when pulling your phone off the mount, the vent attachment can loosen over time. This is not a big deal since it’s very easy to reattach and tighten with the tightening dial.

Avoir son cellulaire pas loin dans son champ de vision, on va ce le dire, c'est devenu assez essentiel de nos jours. Tout le monde n'a pas Apple Car Play, par exemple et l'on veut tout de même profiter du GPS et de son Spotify sans avoir à faire tenir son cellulaire dans un étau de plastique qui n'est pas toujours pratique d'utilisation. Quand on a un iPhone avec Magsafe, il y a de bien meilleures solutions... POURS : - Une fois facilement installé dans une des ventilations de votre voiture, le support ne bougera plus. Ça devient comme un élément du véhicule. Donc pas de soucis de décrochage, de chute... de "où il est donc passé ? Il est tu tombé sous le siège ?". - C'est magnétique, mais ça tient ! Mon iPhone n'est jamais tombé... même pas sur les belles routes de Montréal (gage de solidité absolu). - Le téléphone se pivote super facilement de la verticale à l'horizontale et inversement. - On place le téléphone en un quart de seconde... et on le retire tout aussi vite. Y'a aucun ajustement à faire... c'est juste parfait ! - Aucun bras télescopique qui prend de la place ou qui cache la vue. CONTRES : - Y'en a pas vraiment... le même avec la recharge sans fil peut-être ? Conclusion : Avec un iPhone compatible Magsafe, ce support est parfait. Ça m'a pris une minute pour l'installer : dévisser une tige métallique, placer le support, resserrer la tige jusqu'à ce cela ne bouge plus. Et voilà ! Ça a l'air solide... si jamais ça vient à changer, je repasserai modifier mon commentaire.
