Q: What size is it? As there two different measurements

I bought the sewing box for a gift however I remember that it was a good size with a well laid out compartment system. My Daughter in law was thrilled with it and plenty big enough for her needs .

Q: Is the inside one large compartment or is there an inner tray (to provide two or more layers) with compartments?

The main compartment is one large one but when you open it it has a tray that is settled on the top with separate compartments for pins bobbins,sewing machine needles etc. Only one layer but I think it's sufficient. Hope this helps.
