Get the right one, look closely at the AMP draw on the motor
I had to return the first one I bought, same size and features but once distinct difference. The power draw on the first one was less than an amp. I hooked it up to power to test before install and it work perfectly but it didn't seem very powerful. In fact my house fan put out more air. Went back to look at the specs and noticed the amount of amps was less than an amp. WOW. After much research , I discovered that It had a big brother, everything the same except the power consumption. Furthemore I didn't find it when searching on Amazon. I had to do a google search to find it. Ironically when I found the part number on google, it directed me back to amazon. Got the new one and yes it is exactly what I expected. My use case it an attic / garage ventilation system. South Florida is hot in the summer which make the garage unusable for projects. This fan is mounted in the garage ceiling. When I want to cool the garage I open the garage door leaving a 4 inch gap at the bottom. Turn on the fan and it draws air from outside , through the garage in attic and then out the house vents. Killing two birds with one stone.

Be sure the fan will fit the area where you plan to use it.
This is a good quality fan. It is strong and quiet, it does have a fan noise but not bad. There is no vibration. Since it is 110 volt it can be wired in easily to a wall switch.Zeb

Does what I need
I bought the 18" 1/4 HP to vent a 4 bedroom house with a 5 car garage. Was worried that the fan would no be big enough...... Let me tell you, it is powerful enough. If I were to do it all over, I might consider buying the variable one instead.18" 1/4 HP really moves a lot of air, great fan.

Borat- Very nice.
I replaced a 12” fan in my 24x24 garage with this fan so I can paint in my garage. The old fan I thought was ok till I put this one in. Now I have to push the door shut to close it because it’s pulling on the door pretty good. I can feel a good breeze in the garage. I also ran a 2 stroke dirt bike and my Harley and it exhausted all fumes immediately. I haven’t painted my truck yet but I have no doubt it’s going to keep up.

The louvers are well built with fabric at the bottom to create a better seal. The fan has a metal shroud on ...
Took me 2 years to purchase an attic fan and kicking myself for not buying this sooner! I have been having extreme attic heat issues to the point where heat was radiating down into my top floor bedroom, even when only 80 degrees outside. It was typically hotter in my house than outside by at least 10 degrees. After making sure all my soffit vents were clear, this was the next step in the process to remedy the problem. That said, This fan was well packaged and heavy duty built. I was very impressed with the quality of this fan for the price. I got the 18" S model and am controlling it via the dual humidistat and variable speed control. The louvers are well built with fabric at the bottom to create a better seal. The fan has a metal shroud on it so birds can not ever get past it if a vent didn't shut all the way. Everything about this fan is well done and well built. My only complaint, and hence 4 star is how loud it is. I can literally hear this one floor below, but that is because it is working well and moving a ton of air!I will say having run this thing for a few days, I have the thermostat set to turn on at 110 degrees and on an 80 degree day, it tends to run from about noon to 6pm and has made a noticeable difference in the radiating heat issue I mentioned.I am very happy with the purchase and ok with the noise level because I know it is doing it Job, and doing it well.Hight recommend to move hot attic air out. Based on what I have seen over the past week, this will undoubtedly save me on AC expense and has already created a more comfortable living space. All the best, T

Way too loud. Don’t even think of purchasing
Wanted to add ventilation to the attic. After install I can’t even use the product it sounds like a helicopter is hovering on my roof. Find another option.
