A great show
If you look up the name Eureka there is actually a town called Eureka in nearly every state of the union, but none are like this one. Eureka is a fantastic little show about a U.S. Marshal who happens to stumble into town one day and help to resolve a couple of issues while he's there. After the initial introduction he is given new orders and placed in Eureka a the Sheriff of the smartest and strangest town in the U.S. Scientific discovery in Eureka is the nature of everyday life but with such discoveries typically come consequences as well, creating a new sun, a new north pole, and nearly turning the town into the cast of 28 days, with and anger stimulator (which was originally intended to do the opposite) are just some of the adventures that appear in Eureka. The new Sheriff does not share the genius level IQ of the majority of the town but his practical approach and common sense, along with saint-like patience and a good sense of humor help him to deal with the everyday events of Eureka, where are definitely not the everyday events of any other town. In Season 4 they also introduce that the universe the encompass Eureka also has Warehouse 13 (another Sci-Fi original) create a more rounded world where there is immense science and items of seemingly magical power. If you like a show with a sense of humor and great storytelling this is the show for you. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

This set will need replacing soon! Bizarrely poor quality disks! Too bad on this GREAT SHOW!
5 stars for the content! 1 star for the set ( disks, sleeves, etc...) as there’s no problem with the packaging, only the disks themselves = 3 star reviewFirst I would like to say that Eureka is one of our favorite shows! It is a super fun concept, well written, wonderful talent with fabulous effects... plus it is acceptable programming for the entire family!I bought this collection, along with a few others (Primeval, Fringe, Warehouse 13; etc...) for our home so my family could enjoy watching for years to come regardless of streaming availability. However two of the disks cracked in a spiral out from the middle hole immediately the very first time I took them from the case to insert in our player and watch! DEVASTATING as we had saved for this collection and were so excited to receive! Of course the disks that ‘crumbled’ around the inside edge were separated by a season or more (the first one in season 1 and second in season 3 or 4) so I immediately assumed it was a minor issue with one of the disks and was content to replace the first season (not the best season imo anyway) if and when needed, so basically disappointed but not immediately alarmed. Unfortunately I should have been!As we made our way through the seasons of the show over a span of a week or two I was dismayed to find more crumbly disks! This week I pulled it down again (our collections sit securely on the upper shelf in a tall heavy wooden bookshelf for organizational purposes) to watch for our 3rd (or possibly 4th?) time through and was absolutely horrified to find that the disks are continuing to deteriorate! They seem to become more “brittle/crumbly” between watching! Small, sharp shards of the disks around the inside center are flaking away inside the sleeves on the shelf!I know it sounds absurd and if I read this review I would easily dismiss it as a very rare occurrence or improper storage or handling however this is simply not the case (unless it is due to a rare occurrence) as none of our other (more frequently watched) series kept right next to this one have had any problems whatsoever!I have never seen a DVD or BluRay disk simply crack and ‘splinter’ out from the center like this, I will attempt to add pictures as it might be helpful to someone, and it is not only inconvenient as I have to handle the disks so carefully but also that my family does not enjoy the series much as I worry that handling the disks will ruin them! We have now owned this set for approximately 1 1/2 years, enjoyed watching it fewer times than we usually would and will be needing to replace it soon! For the expense of seeing the series only a few times before needing replacement it is simply not worth it! I am looking into purchasing the individual seasons separately now and checking reviews as I fear they could be the poor quality! If you are buying this series be sure to check all of the disks right away upon receiving them! Do not ignore any small crack in the center if you find that any of yours do this when removed from the case!Very disappointing because this show is certainly worth having! It is sold separately (in seasons and sort of half seasons?) and gets fairly expensive this way depending on the seller, however this collection makes it basically affordable. If I did not fear the quality I would simply replace ours with another set (as it will cost roughly the same amount for me to replace only the 2 or 3 individual seasons that have these faulty/poor quality disks) but I will not risk it again! However, on a more positive note, this show is definitely entertaining enough to replace(...once at least!?!?) and I would recommend watching this series to everyone!Do not let this review cause you to have a negative opinion of ‘Eureka’, it is a must have series to own for many great reasons, but CHECK each of your disks immediately upon arrival so you can contact Amazon promptly if one of them displays even the slightest crack! In our experience it will only get worse and it certainly isn’t cost effective to continue to replace any part of this (or, honestly, any other) series! At least not without reason (maybe accidental damage, house fire?...lol!!) when you have so many other fun things on Amazon to buy!

Eureka! You've found it!
This was such a good series that I had to pick up the entire set on DVD. Colin Ferguson was perfect for this role and deserves a lot more credit than he seemed to receive for making this as enjoyable as it was. Considered not as intelligent as the residents of Eureka, his common sense got them out of a huge # of problems week after week. The series was thought-provoking, staying close to a real-science science fiction series. But I knew they weren't paying attention to some details when, in the first episode, Henry Deacon, supposedly a Space Shuttle engineer, goes to take a picture of a family and says "1, 2, 3" rather than what would have come more naturally for him -- "3, 2, 1". And I loved how Eureka and Warehouse 13 intertwined just enough to make the 'world' of each series a little larger because of that crossover.

The best sci-fi series ever made!
I've been meaning to buy this for years but it kept slipping my mind. Well no more, I finally got it and I am so happy to have all the episodes to watch whenever I want. This series is a treasure for any sci-fi fan especially those who watched it sister show Warehouse 13, which I also have. However if you do buy note some of the discs maybe scratched though they still play fine. For me it was only the discs in season 1 and the rest of the seasons discs were fine. I was sad that they ended this series after five seasons but I'm glad that it got as far as it did and that they were able to give a satisfying ending. For all those who purchased this get ready to visit Eureka!

Quite Entertaining with Engaging Characters
Eureka was a great series sci-fi television series that ran for about 6 years on the Syfy Channel. The show takes place in the fictional town of Eureka which is inhabited by the various scientific geniuses. Most of the people who live in Eureka are employed by a high tech fictional company called Global Dynamics. Global Dynamics. The story line mainly focuses on the town Sheriff, Jack Carter. In each episode, someone, or a group of people, inevitably misuse some sort of advanced technology resulting in Carter trying to figure out how to resolve the issues that occur because of the misuse with the help of town scientists. Overall, I found the series to be quite entertaining & the characters to be engaging. I only wish that the seasons would have been comprised of more episodes & that the show would have run for at least a few more seasons.
