I have recently encountered pens labelled "gel" that were in fact standard ball-points. Not these though - genuine gels - even to the little pellet of "stuff" to protect the writing tip till you are ready to use it. The 20 pens are neatly packed and write (or draw) extremely well, so no complaints from me.I was fascinated to notice that one of them was white - was this at last a pen to write on black paper with? Sadly no ... it was dark brown... but use of pens on black paper must be a bit of a niche market, like use of metallic inks.I set out to try out all the pens - see photo. Yes there are 20 pens there, and the pens are all different colours. However, to my eyes, two of the greens look the same - as do two of the blues, the two oranges as well as the pale mauve as well as the two pinks. Admittedly, I'm a bloke and we are supposed to have a much more limited colour vision palette than the girls do, so it may be just a case of "man-colour-blindness" that the girls laugh at!Overall then, 20 quality gel pens for £16 - all writing (or drawing) beautifully; not a duff one among them. Its 5 *****'s from me!

When I've bought my children colouring pens in the past they were okay, but a lot of duplication colourwise.I went for these pens because there are 20 all different. 4 greens, 4 blues etc. I also liked the pens being coloured appropriately to the colour they wrote. It may seem silly to say that, but the set of 10 we've been using before were coloured 'interestingly', yet we had to read the colour name printed on the clip. That was annoying. These pens are all clear as to the colour. The four different shades of green are coloured unambiguously. There is one exception. For some reason the light brown pen is coloured light brown, and the dark brown one is coloured white!Previous pens have had caps, and they can get lost if children use them. These are retractable and capless.The pack says China Good Design Gold Winner 2015. At last someone is designing these things instead of simply throwing them together. It's not that these pens are shockingly different, more that this is what they should be like.Each pen is completely the one colour, including the clip and the press button on the top. They are made of plastic and have a matt non-slip finish. They are attractive, and if you are a stationery enthusiast like me then you'll be smiling when you open the packet.What are they like to use? 0.5mm line, so they can be used for writing.The really interesting bit came to light when I opened a pen to look at the refill. It was really fat! A normal refill is 3.6mm diameter and these are 5.7mm. Bearing in mind that both refills have the same thickness plastic walls, these pens hold a lot more gel and should last a long time. I've put a photo here with a red refill compared with a blue normal one. I hope the difference shows.The wife liked them so we haven't shown them to our daughter yet.

I've tried so many gel pens. Big brands, "value" brands, own brands. And really, these are the best.Nicely balanced, reliable smooth ink flow, last ages. Definitely worth paying that little bit more.

I really like these pens, the colours are good and they feel nice to write with. BUT....they stop writing after about 10 minutes use. The ink runs out and if you try to take the ink cartridge out, it doesn't go back in again. Waste of money.

The colours are gorgeous and distinct and they write so beautifully!Just make sure to put them in the holder nib facing the sky as my red had been leaking, however, may be just be a once-off issue as none of the other colour leaked.
