A Great Head Unit to add modern features into an older Vehicle
I don't typically leave reviews, but I felt compelled this time around. I am car big car/truck guy and have owned my 2004 F150 for 10 years. Over the years I have transformed the truck to my tastes inside and out, all while keeping it as clean as possible. I have always wanted a really nice radio and had upgraded the door speakers and put in a single din for USB and an aux jack. I knew the smart phones would become prominent and decent Head units back in 2009 and later were big money and almost primitive. So I waited. After owning a new 2015 Ford Taurus with Sync 2 and some nice features as a daily driver, I knew I wanted to add similar features in the truck - without relying on my phone screen for GPS. I still had to in the Taurus, but the truck I wanted it on the screen nice and large. Cue the Alpine ILX-207.I completed the installation myself and added the Sirius module and soon will install my Camera Source Tailgate Emblem back-up camera. So Far, the Alpine has been flawless. I bought the metra harness and soldered the connections myself as I am a "no-hack" kind of guy. Android Auto works perfectly and I enjoy having all of the modern features in my 2004 F-150. It just makes everything much more comfortable as the truck is in stellar shape, but the older radios feel so dated. Start-up is fairly quick and I find it works better than the Sync 2 8" unit in my '15 Taurus. Just having the maps alone is fantastic.... my car doesn't even have that feature. If you are looking for a well built unit, this is a great choice. I'm no expert, but I have not had any issues so far (3 weeks installed) and everything has worked as it should. It is a fair price to me, since you avoid the cheaper units out there. What's the point of skimping on something that you use everyday? None, imo.

False advertising w camera
Looks cool, doesnt come with back up camera as advertised so watch out for that called customer service , they couldn’t understand that i was missing that camera and just gave me a partial credit no matter who i talked to . Its louder than stock so music does distort once you pass 25 on the volume. Other than that its alright for the price i wouldn’t buy it again

Amazing head unit.
Best product out there so far! Had a Pioneer BS2700 before, no android auto nor apple carplay. with the ILX207, it has WAY more things that are capable of. Setting things up are pretty easy. you can control more on the EQ and everything. I have installed the HDMI for the phone too but I wouldn't really use it because ..who really needs to watch anything on the head unit when it is basically the same size as standard phones these day. but hey! it is still good to have the option. For bluetooth, it connects very quickly and honestly never lost connection with my phone. We are an android family so I cant write anythinf about it BUT, for android auto, it is the best thing to have for your car. the ability to have voice control with a push of a button is so handy while driving. music control is great AND the navigation button on the right side is good to get back to your map really quick.

After a Year in Use
I purchased the unit with the Back Up Camera and the Sirius XM module. Additionally, I removed the cig lighter and installed a double USB port permanently. One of the USB Plugs is simply a charging port for any USB attached. The other is the direct feed into the unit so I can get CarPlay to display on my unit from my iPhone. Overall, this works very well. One exception. My iPhone has the Mophi battery/case. Sometimes, when I plug in my iPhone to the unit, as noted above, the iPhone is not recognized by the unit. There are continuous cycles of connected/not connected displayed on my iPhone. If I take away the Mophi case and hook the iPhone direct to the unit, it appears to work OK. There is some issue, sometimes, with the unit recognizing my iPhone in the Mophi case. Does not happen all the time. Still a good deal. Love the back up camera.

Great head unit
Installed one in my truck and bought another for my car I like it so much. The ability to customize the sound from the head unit is pretty amazing spending the time to setup the crossovers and time delays can create a noticeable improvement in your vehicles sound. In my truck I’m running the front and rears of the radio and amp for the sub. In my car I have amps for doors and sub so excited to see what it does once installed.

Meh
It seems like a capable head unit but it leaves you wanting more. The screen resolution is 480p and in this day and age I expect more from a $600 device. The Android Auto didnt work out of the box so I returned the unit and purchased another unit from Alpine. The unique feature of having the ability to have a remote monitor controlled thru the head unit was the best feature

Great upgrade to any car or any age-if you have a (modern) phone.
Awesome product, no CD drive but then no 8-track either. I consider that a positive not a negative. Probably not worth it unless you intend to use Android auto or Apple CarPlay. But with them it's a game changer. Probably ought to consider an idatalink maestro too while you're at it. Got my item for a real deal, though it lacked most of the typically included cables, all of which can be had for less then 100 bucks.
