Cute craft kit with kiwi flair
This is an adorable craft kit that would make a perfect gift. When we visited New Zealand, it seemed like every gift shop had paper or woodcraft kits like this - they were popular enough our bed and breakfast hosts even gifted us one of a kiwi bird on departure. The ones we'd seen previously were more of a slot assembly affair, but this one is a bit more advanced: it's constructed of individual cut layers which build up to create a three dimensional object. It would actually be a great teaching aid for someone trying to explain how a 3D printer slicer works - the concept of dividing a 3D object into stratified layers is very similar. The instructions for this kit are clear and the pieces are well fabricated, and I appreciate that everything you need is included; nothing's worse than gifting someone a fun craft kit only to discover they need to go shop for glue immediately afterward. Each piece has clear outlines and assembly is super straightforward - just match up the R and L labels and use the slot cards as shown in the diagram. Enjoy the various wombat facts printed on the cards, then recycle the remaining punchouts. And don't forget to assemble the cubic wombat poop, too!The kit says for ages 6 and up. It does require a fair amount of motor skill to assemble it evenly, so I might skew towards a slightly higher age range, although I do think a six year old could complete this with adult assistance.

Cute, fun, and easy craft project
This was such fun to make, and the wombat is adorable! The inset eyes help give the figurine extra character. It has a pretty nice heft due to all the layers. One thing nice is seeing that your resulting figurine doesn't need to have text on it. Though I wanted to use the pieces with words on them, the two final pieces (on either side of the wombat) come with two options. One is two pieces (one for either side) without any words. The other set of two says: "dodoland/Designed in/New Zealand" and "EUGY/Wombat" so that you can choose the two blank ones or two labeled ones, or one of each. Another special extra is that there are facts about wombats on the cardboard "sheets."Though it's being called a puzzle, I would consider this a craft instead. There's no way to complete the wombat and then disassemble it (some outer pieces are only on by gluing, and not attached to the center/core piece). And it's not really a puzzle since the pieces are clearly labeled as to where they go.I took a photo of the wombat head on since the cardboard as a medium has some limitations. One is the interior (interior of the ears and front legs) shows the back of the cardboard, which is white with no details. The other is that the figurine lacks details shown head-on. Despite this, I still really like it. It reminds me a little of 3D printing and how objects can be built in layers. It's creative, and the project is really easy and a lot of fun.

A wombat for my office habitat
When I saw the picture of his little poop cube, I knew I needed to get this guy. Didn't look it over much, so wasn't quite sure what I was going to get. It's a bit smaller than expected; the box is barely bigger than a phone. My partner was like, "I thought it would be life-sized!" I responded, "Do you know how big a wombat is?" Alas, only the poop cube is life-sized.I was also expecting more of a puzzle aspect, but it's a sort of guided craft. It kind of reminded me of the balsawood dinosaurs I'd make as a kid. But a lot of thought clearly went into the item. There are little beads for his eyes, and he even has little ear holes. And I love the wombat facts on the piece cards. Overall, he's super cute and it was a fun little 30-minute diversion. My only critique of the product is the price. At $10 or $11 a pop, I could see myself collecting quite a few of these; the otter and the kookaburra are probably my other favorites. But at $14, that makes it a little bit tougher proposition.

Delightful craft, for kids and adults
EUGY craft kits are one-of-a-kind and super fun. We now have a collection of these guys, and were delighted to have the chance to try out the new wombat. This little guy is possibly the cutest of them all!EUGY paper puzzles are:*environmentally-friendly*they are fairly easy to put together (I love a frustration-free craft!)*great for all ages (younger kid with assistance, the glue does require some patience & the whole craft requires fine motor skills)*they are sturdy and hold upThey are great stocking/basket stuffers, can be used as part of school lessons too. My kiddo loves to make these, I've made two myself and enjoy them as well.Love the life-size "accessory" they gave the wombat! Good stuff!
