The Art of My Little Pony: The Movie Hardcover – August 29, 2017

The book is extremely well made with vibrant colors and sketches that make you pine for what could have been. Capturing what made the show a cultural phenomenon in both an artistic and writing standpoint. Though we are reading a book about magical, flying ponies and other mythical creatures, there is something very real underneath it all- and the simple truth that Friendship really is Magic and we are never truly alone, and more powerful than we think in spite of our abilities or disabilities.You can feel the love and passion that was poured into this. One thing I adore is the respect the creators have for their audience, devoid of age. Never at any point is anyone talked down to or things overly simplified, which we all appreciate as young children and adults. In a world so critical of every choice we make, there is a catharsis in seeing flawed, third dimensional characters teaching anything from beginner level morals to some that took me back at how mature they were- lessons we all too often forget as we age. The scrapped ideas and locations in this book are beyond breathtaking. As an animation and story buff myself I knew a lot of work goes into making something as large as a movie- though I was taken aback at just how much these creators brought to life to tell a lasting story. You can't help but feel inspired after reading the book. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy, as can be seen by the years of conceptualizing and hard work put into this world.

I may be late but I’ve been a Brony (which is actually what they call young adult MEN including me AND middle-aged MEN fans of the My Little Pony franchise just like me) since July 2017 (something I should’ve done a long time ago but then of course, I eventually caught up and eventually saw EVERYTHING) and I absolutely LOVE THIS the art of My Little Pony: The Movie book (I also still have the FULL 2017 movie ON Blu-Ray, the 2017 movie original motion picture soundtrack ON CD, the TV show called Friendship Is Magic Seasons 1-7 ALL ON DVD to this day, I even have ALL 5/FIVE of the human version 👫 Equestria Girls movies ALL ON DVD, too PLUS I EVEN got my pre-ordered copy of Friendship Is Magic Season 7/Seven EVEN ON DVD from Amazon the day it came out five months ago as well)! Especially the amazing gorgeous beautiful great artwork on the front AND my all-time favorite pony characters (for example: Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie)! IF you’re a Brony just like me, then the 2017 movie, the human version 👫 called Equestria Girls AND EVEN the TV show Friendship Is Magic Seasons 1-8 are ALL probably for you (I said “probably”)! #Brony #Bronies 😄👍🦄😃👍🦄😄👍🦄👍😃👍🦄😄👍🦄😃👍🦄😄👍🦄

I'm really impressed with this book. The art inside is amazing, and the whole book gives you an inside scoop on just what went in to making the MLP movie from the people who worked on it. You get to see a ton of concept art, including places and characters, and how they evolved into the final form they had in the movie, as well as things that never made it into the movie. I very much recommend this book for any fan of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

This is a fantastic art book for fans of My Little Pony as well as anyone who loves fantasy worlds. My only tiny complaint is that even at 160 pages it still feels like this book could go quite a bit longer. There are tons of beautiful concept paintings, many of which are noted as not having made it into the film, and lots of character concept and reference works. In the section for the Mane Six, they even include RGB value color swatches for them. The art overall is extremely well done and functions as a massive expansion to what the world of MLP is.As for book quality, it's a solid hardcover with good weighty glossy paper that doesn't feel like it'll tear if you mishandle it.

Came a little sooner than expected and I am very pleased. I enjoyed the film and now I can enjoy the artistry that went into making it. Thank you!

Book has lots of undevelopment art and notes from artists. Very nice for fans and fan artists like myself

The MLP Movie Artbook visualizes the amount of details, explorations, and resources into one big production. The quality does feel solid on paper, the concepts look very potential, and the commentary do a great job showing about the characters and the locations. Recommended!

It has lots of concept art and written notes, I learned a lot of little things that went into making the movie I never knew. The art is quite nice with comparing concepts and finalized work. I really love hardback books, it is larger than I expected and has a lot of pages and everyone of them are beautiful. If you are a fan of My Little Pony and loved the movie, this book is highly recommended.

I can't believe new copies of this book came back in stock!! The book arrived safely but the jacket had a slight rip in the corner. This doesn't personally bother me though. The book itself is absolutely gorgeous and there are a lot of great insights and commentary into how the film came to be. It has a bunch of model sheets, tons of concept art, some storyboards and misc. artworks. The only thing I will say is that the book is insanely expensive everywhere I've looked (even just for used versions!) so only get it if you're 100% set on wanting this artbook in particular.

J'ai acheté ce livre pour moi apprenant a dessiner et les illustrations, concept art sont sublimes.Le livre est déjà très beau en lui même mais c'est une très belle découverte, à l'image du film.

Muy excelente libro de arte. Tiene muchos skecthes, dibujos y arte alterno a la pelicula. Y muy bueno para ayudarte a tomar ideas y practicar diseño si te gusta hacer fan art de My little pony. Unico detalle es que esta en ingles. Y la portada esta aparte o no esta pegado al libro en si asi que tengan cuidado al leerlo.

While the overall book is overloaded with amazing artwork and beautiful scenery shots, I do wish there some extra pages added for some further details into some of the artwork. Still won't argue with how wonderfully well put it is and whether you're a fan of MLP or just looking at some amazing artwork, this is a must-buy.
