It works
I bought this as a replacement for a cheap one which was inaccurate. This is like chalk and cheese. Easy to use and absolutely spot on. I zero it on the glass oven door each use. Makes cutting skirting angles a doddle. Don't buy the cheap analogue ones, they simply don't work. This is very good value.

Easy to use, seems accurate, although the display is a little dark for my eyes
GemRed mitre Saw ProtractorAs I'm rather 'Old School' when it comes to woodwork, I don't have a great deal of confidence in digital woodworking devices. I recently had a bad experience where a similar device was quite a way off, despite it being re-calibrated several times. With a non digital device the measurement scale never changes. Having said that, this little device does appear to be accurate and is very easy to re-calibrate prior to every use.The protractor is supplied complete with a circular CR2032 battery, just slide the battery tray out and pop in the battery. I did find the tray a little difficult to pull out even when prising with a small screwdriver, I then put the battery in the wrong way round, but once in place this battery should last for ages.To re-calibrate, just stretch the protractor out over a level surface and press the 'Set' button, where the display will then zero. This can be used in single cut mode or mitre mode by just holding the 'M' button down. That's it, not much to learn and remember, it's very easy to use.The gauge is made from plastic but does appear to be strong and sturdy. I did find the display a little dark and not so easy to read in a gloomy workshop, it would in my opinion work much better if the display were illuminated. As far as accuracy and ease of use go, this does seem to work well. I shall probably be using this a lot over the coming weeks as I have a huge woodworking project looming.Overall this does it's intended job and certainly makes measuring angles easier.CONTENTS:1 x Protractor1 x Battery1 x User GuideThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

Easy, accurate; but not that robust.
Had this for some time and have hestitated to review it since although it was easy to use, read and appears when checked to be accurate, it broke fairly early on and I wanted to see if other people's experience was the same. Have read other review, it doesn't seem to be an issue so I am going to assume it was just us being clumsy that caused the issue. It's made out of fairly lightweight plastic, and was being used in a busy woodworking shop, possibly as a DIY tool it would fare better - it certainly takes out the guesswork when doing this kind of measurement.

Easy To Use But Can’t See Display Using Polarised Sunglasses.
We do a lot of wood working and cutting various items for our current home renovation that we are undergoing right now and this does certainly help make the cuts more speedier and accurate. In regards to accuracy, it is pretty much spot on to what I measure manually, so that is fantastic for us as it cuts some time off in total when completing a job.Only thing I have to say negatively about this is the fact you cannot wear polarised sunglasses whilst using, as you just simply cannot see the display and I might also add that in dark areas is no good either. You do need to be in a well lit area to be able to see the display clearly and would massively benefit from the display being illuminated to get rid of that slight issue it has got but apart from that is seems good quality and will last quite a bit to come and many projects.

Brilliant tool that will be my 'go-to' angle checker from now on.
This is a very reasonably priced (less that £16) digital readout angle finder and it's blissfully simple to use and get instant angle measurements. The design means that it's as good measuring internal angles as well as external angles. The construction is primarily plastic so the GemRed is lightweight and easy to use in difficult recesses etc. I like the small size too because often, especially with internal measuring, space can be very restricted. Supplied with the device there's a single sheet user guide that's printed on both sides. Actually it's a very useful and well written document - in particular the "Compound Cut Conversion Table" is a handy reference tool (although I don't think that I will need it very often for my anticipated usage of the GemRed). The angle finder comes with battery supplied so you can get straight at them angles, checking them to your heart's content! The readout is displayed for about 5 minutes before it auto-shuts off so battery life should be very good (it's a standard CR2032 button cell). It would have been nice if a backlit display was an option as, quite often, you'll be reading angle measurements in dark places (e.g. inside a cupboard or drawer) but I am being rather picky. Before using the GemRed Angle Finder it is important to set it up correctly. It's a very simple process and only takes a few seconds. You need to open out the 'arms' of the GemRed so that they are in the maximum "splits" position and then place the angle finder firmly onto a perfectly flat surface. I consider that glass is a very good surface to use as it's a material that's about as flat as it gets. You could use any smooth rigid surface too, but the main thing is that the 'arms' of the angle finder must be pressed to the surface. Then you press the Power/Set button and the display will then show 0° which indicates the angle finder has been setand you can start measuring angles...The measurement is instant and seems plenty accurate enough for my needs. I tested the device against known-to-be accurate geometrical tools as you can see in my photos. There are two scales (single cut and mitre cut).Anyone doing even the most basic of DIY tasks would find this handy tool very useful. Well worth the price in my opinion. I hope this review has been helpful if you are considering purchasing the GemRed Angle Finder.

Accurate readings
The media could not be loaded. This is such a handy tool for a tool box. My partner said it is really useful. Measures corners really easy and then you can match up with your metre saw. You do need to make sure it is starting at 0 though as the bars also move inwards. Feels quite sturdy and strong. Powered by a 2032 button battery.
