Very nice well built razor. I would categorize it as a medium shaver. It’s fairly smooth and efficient. Great budget razor! I personally think it’s much better than the Merkur 34C but that’s me. For the price you can’t go wrong.

Best safety razor I've tried.
I've been using a safety razor for about 3 years and this is definitely my favourite - a mild shave (great for sensitive skin), nicely balanced, excellent handle grip (I shave in the shower and this is important to me), and a closed comb, making it much safer to use/change blades on than my open-comb Edwin Jagger and Parker butterfly (does anyone know why open comb razors exist??)

I find the Parker 78R to be a very comfortable shaver with a Gillette Platinum blade. I received it this morning and removed a three day beard with ease. The head of the razor and blade worked in unison providing great confidence against the possibility of nicks or irritation. Of my six razors this is definitely the one with the least blade feel, yet it is very efficient.
