Gives You Ideas
When I was a girl scout, we frequently created foil packages at camp. Fresh veggies and meat are placed inside a square of aluminum foil, sealed with foil, and cooked together over a hot fire, grill, or oven. There are 100 dishes in this camping guidebook for cooking in foil packets. Along with recipes for using the oven or a campfire, the book describes how to fold the foil.Really, neither nutritional information nor visuals are present. That would be fantastic if the book had that, but I believe I would be better off choosing another book that does have the visuals.

excellent meals on the road recipes
I received a free electronic copy of this recipe book, paired with her camping recipes for foil-wrapped cooking, from DigitalBookSpot, and Bonnie Scott. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me. I have read and sampled snacks from this book, and been quite impressed. I am pleased to refer friends and family to the cookbooks of Bonnie Scott. Her recipes are practical, tried and true, and mouth-wateringly enticing.I have yet to find a recipe in a Bonnie Scott cookbook that I and my family don't enjoy. Her suggestions are tasty, fast, and balanced both by appeal, taste, and time required to prepare. I have tried many of these recipes here at the house during our present COVID-19 shut-in and now can't decide what I would like best for camping. Summer is coming. One lives in hope...Reviewed on March 29th on Goodreads, AmazonSmile, Barnes&Noble, and BookBub. Not available for review on Kobo or GooglePlay.

An ok cookbook no pics
A nice cookbook on an underutilized cooking method. There were a wealth of recipes and this cookbook is a genuine book lengthbook which so many Kindle cookbooks are not. There were a few illustrations in the book but none really of any of the recipeswhich is an ongoing rant of mine when reviewing cookbooks. There was a nicely balanced array of recipes according to chicken, fish, pork, beef and vegetables. Even if you have a vegetarian accompanying you there are plenty of vegetarian dishes to satisfy this type ofperson. Some corrections, she talks about tent steak made with chuck steak. This steak will get very tough on the fire. You are not eating at a fancy restuarant so cook with the best steak, NY strip or sirloin. Another rant is mushrooms achieve their best flavor when sauteed in butter. It is just not a legitimate cookbook unless you have picsThere were no nutritional values listed but all in all not a bad cookbook and certainly worth your while because there are just not that manyfoil cooking cookbooks on the market. The reivewer is the author of the new Kindle book entitled: Sex Education for Adults Secrets To Amazing Sex and Happily Ever After Too.It took first place in the International Book Excellence Awards Contest in my category of marriageThe best review on the book is by a licensed marriage cousnelor who credits the book for saving his marriage. The book is on the AASECT recommended reading list on their website (American Assn of Sexual EducatorsCounselors and TherapistsI was recently offered a TEDx talk on the book

foil cooking
Camping Recipes: Foil Packet CookingFigure this would also be good for just a grill BBQ grill. Very useful tips on cooking with foil and how to place certain food in the packet.Love the chart of cooking temperatures of the meat inside the packets. Takes all the guess work out of how hot things have to be.Colorful pictures of each step by step instructions explained. No pictures of the finished product or nutritional information.Foil steak supper would be my favorite to try. So many combinations and suggestions for spices.Lots of different main meats for meals along with breakfast and desserts and miscellaneous dishes to make. Authors other works are highlighted at the end.

Good recipes, but lots and lots of ingredients in some
Okay, I'm going camping with my family. I love the idea of foil packet cooking so there's no muss and not fuss. However, if you look at the ingredient list for some of these recipes, I'd need to take my whole kitchen with me in order to cook these! If I were home in my own back yard, I could see cooking something like "oriental fish packets" where you have 13 ingredients--including cooked rice.I'd like to see more recipes like the "butter baked chicken" where there's only 4 ingredients-chicken, butter, salt and pepper! A few more ingredients would be fine, like the "lemon barbecued chicken" with 8 ingredients. However, the other issue I have is there are so many ingredients that I would not normally take with me in my small camper that I just can't use them.On the plus side, there are great pictures and directions on the different ways to make foil packets, and when best to use which type of foil packet. If you have a large camper that you have lots of storage space for many different items, this would be an excellent cookbook. Or if you just want to have a backyard barbecue using foil packets, this would come in handy. If you are limited in space while camping, you will probably only be able to use a few of these recipes.

SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE ME A CAMPFIRE TO COOK ON!
CAMPING RECIPES: FOIL PACKET COOKINGBy Bonnie ScottEven though the percentage of recipes I highlighted to try is on the low side, I thought this was a great cook book. I highlighted 67 out of 100 recipes. This is a 67% success rate. I liked the uniqueness of the subject. I loved the opening tutorial section with step-by-step instructions with photographs. I liked the cute graphics used in the chapter dividers. I liked that there were icons at the ends of the recipes to tell if you could make the recipe over the campfire or on the grill. I wish they had included instructions on how to make in the oven at home. This cook book lacks writing content. Some of the recipes from this book that I would like to try are:1. Oriental Chicken2. Coconut Shrimp3. Foil Steak Supper4. Grilled Potato SlicesRating: 4 stars

Disappointing
Horribly unimaginative, the most basic cooking. It could be boiled down to one sentence: wrap the food in foil and stick it in the embers for 25-40 mins, tinned soup as seasoning optional.Bad printing, pathetic recipes.

Easy pre prepared food to take hiking
I loved the ideas in the book. They are easily understandable and practical. Thank you for giving us your wisdom. I will be testing some out next weekend here in South east Queensland. Brad
