After learning about the levels of lead in our city water, I researched what kind of filtration I could use (city’s recommendation is just to run the water for a minute before drinking. not very reassuring). This brand and filter had very positive reviews from consumer tests. I have nothing to compare it to because I grew up drinking bottled water, but my S.O says water tastes much better compared to Brita pitchers he grew up with/around. Don’t know if it’s placebo or what (taste is very subjective but also how do you quantify taste?) but I’ve found water does taste nicer, or at least the chlorinated taste/smell is gone and there is no more specks of sediment floating in my glass. I’m less worried about lead now and find myself drinking more water. The pitcher itself has a simple design, and the indicator light is very useful. It does take a little bit to drip down, but it’s not too bad. Just instruct everyone to fill it up whenever it seems like there’s less than a serving left and if everyone cooperates you will always have water in the pitcher. For two people in my household, the amount of water it holds is adequate. If I had more people, I would invest in a bigger pitcher.

Great pitcher, great flavor
I had been a fan of Zero Water for several years but continued flaws with their pitchers caused me to check reviews for another system. I chose Pur based on Wired's reviews, and I'm so glad I did. The water tastes good and the pitcher is so well-designed. You can fill the pitcher without removing the lid; the handle is ergonomically designed so it's easy to lift. There's even a place for your thumb to provide extra security when you're pouring. It does take a while to filter, but I've trained myself to top it off every night so I have a full pitcher in the morning. I've recommended this to all of my friends and family; everyone loves it.

Great design... worrisome plastic.
Pur is hands down the best filter. I've tried all major brands, Zero,Brita, Berkey... pur is the most economical and best tasting. Just be sure to always purchase a "plus" style filter. This pitcher is the best design I've come across. I really liked the "target style" but it was clunky and the spring loaded fill cap broke on 1 month. Then the pitcher cracked!! The reason I bring this up is this pitcher has MUCH thinner plastic. I'm REALLY hoping this is to give the plastic more "give" and not to save money. Just becareful moving the full water container, I suggest softly placing it into the fridge and onto a counter.... which might be troublesome for some people at this size. Other than that... this is a truly perfect design! So easy to maintain. Fill and monitor filter changes.

Easily CRACKS on the top
Within a month of using this product, we noticed a leak when pouring water and found a large crack on the top. We didn't drop this item and took very good care of it. Product is sub-standard on quality - I would not recommend buying this product to anyone and Amazon won't let me return it as I've had it for over a month.

The best
Best filtered water pitcher on the market. Far superior filtration than Brita. This replaced my old Brita pitcher and the taste of the Pur water is so much better than the Brita water. Brita does not fully eliminate the chlorine smell from tap water but Pur does. Pur makes water taste like…..water. No chemical smells, no metallic or chalky taste, no sediment or cloudiness. The negative reviews from people saying it takes too long to fill the pitcher must be very impatient. It is maybe a bit slower filtration than Brita but it’s not very noticeable and does not impact our ability to use the pitcher at all. You fill it in the morning before you leave for work and at night before bed and it’s always full. If we have a full house with the kids here then we’ll fill it more often but even then, the speed of the water filtering is never an issue. Don’t expect the pitcher to fill in 30 seconds. Just try to fill it when you’re not using it. If you’re using the pitcher to fill pots with water for cooking then you need a filtration system for your faucet, not a pitcher.

Saves on plastic
I was going through water bottles like crazy and the amount of plastic that was piling was ridiculous. The price was less then what I found at my local store and the water taste just like purified water. Great but.

No plastic waste.
Works very well. Water is great and I don't contribute to the plastic problem.

Pitcher is poor quality - filter is great
The taste of the water is noticeably much better than other brand filters I've tried, but sadly the pitcher is poor quality. The first shipment... the pitcher cracked behind the handle the first day and the company quickly replaced it. No complaints there! The second pitcher started getting hairline cracks the same as the first. I purchased a large package of replacement filters so I kept the product. 11 months later the crack is much larger to the point of leaking all over the countertop. Another problem with the pitcher is... when filling a larger container, the water pours over and out of the sides of the filter holder section instead of just out of the spout, forcing me to do the pouring in the sink. Hopefully Pur takes the pitcher back to the drawing board. I'd stick with Pur if their pitcher lasted but, the old Brita I had lasted over 3 years, so... i'll be going back to that brand. I like taking a filter pitcher on trips because I'm a heavy water drinker, I don't buy bottled water anymore (if I can help it), I don't drink soft drinks either and need a reliable way to get good tasting water. 🥤🙂

Upgraded to this pitcher, and it's better than the older smaller ones. You can now pour the water out while it's still filtering water from up top.

Lid easily comes off wich is annoying, but overall great taste

After a week of use, the rate has slowed to a few drips...per hour!!! If I fill the upper tank before bedtime, maybe half will be in the lower tank in the morning. Then to add insult to injury, when I went to pour a glass of water hours after refilling the upper tank, there was still so much water in the upper that it flooded out all over my counter and floor. This item is not worth the hassle to return...I will chuck it and go back to Brita with the long life filter.

Beware! I bought one of these and the first time I changed the filter and plastic below the spout split open and all the water leaks out when I pour. Totally useless and PUR isn't interested in rectifying this issue.
