FDW | 39.4" Lift Top Coffee Table | Black | with Hidden Storage

For the money, this is a knockout product. It's fairly sturdy, it looks nice, and the functionality is great! My roommate and I have been looking for a coffee table for a while and we are definitely satisfied with our choice! One issue I have with this is that building it was a huge hassle. The directions were not very clear, and the figures were very small regarding the pieces and how the screws were intended to fit together. Also, it isn't technically required to use a power tool to build this but if you don't have a drill, be prepared to get a SERIOUS arm/forearm workout as you will be screwing screws into the wood. The holes are started for you but they are not pre-cut, you will have to drive the screws into un-penetrated wood. Also, the angles at which you need to do this are a but ridiculous. It's possible but VERY BLOODY DIFFICULT. Also, the tool that they provide for this is almost a joke. Like a serious "HAHAHAHA" joke. You would need hurculean strength to construct this coffee table using that little thing. Word to the wise, use a drill, even if it is a cheap one, it will be super helpful. Other than that, this product is a solid "bang-for-your-buck" purchase.

I bought this for my son. It’s very durable and the storage is great! It was easy for him to assemble and he loves it.

Great table and easy to assemble. I did it solo, but attaching the top really needs two people. I got lucky and had a stool the perfect height to help. I can’t say this enough, read the instructions. I usually don’t, but in this case, it saved me from making a few serious mistakes. It is the perfect size and utility for an apartment, dorm, or den in my opinion.

Summary: This is a do-it-yourself assembled table having clear instructions, with all pieces & hardware packages numbered. It was packaged well, with table pieces having no dings, scratches, or dents, as the cosmetic sides face inward in the carton to protect from any damage on the carton. Table pieces are well-made, all fastening hardware supplied, and Allen-wrench with Phillips-head screwdriver at one end is included. You will want to use a powered screwdriver to make the assembly go faster & be easier on your wrists. The finished table looks nice & lid raises & lowers nicely, staying secure in the raised position regardless of weight on it until you push the lid forward to lower it. Cosmetic quality is A-. Overall fit of pieces after assembly: B+. I am pleased with the purchase. -Detail- Materials: Table is made of white subtle wood-grain laminate over composite wood. Supplied Hardware: Pre-packaged screws, screws with capture-posts, capture-clamps, lid bumpers, leg floor-slides, and the two pneumatic assemblies was supplied & satisfactory. My packet of wood screws for the lid-raising pneumatic assembly was missing 2 screws out of 16 needed; it is a minor issue as 7 screws appears to be sufficient per side, though may add my own. Round wood-grained stickers are also supplied to cover the exposed nickel-sized hex-head and capture-clamp screw-heads, but those heads are only visible inside the compartment when the lid is raised or when looking under the table. Pre-made construction: The applied laminate was well done, though at one end of the lid and inside the compartment's bottom there is a slight glue excess along one edge, barely visible. All holes have been fully pre-drilled except for the lid-securing holes, which has pre-drilled starter holes. Do-it-yourself assembly: All table parts are numbered, and picture assembly guide is very good. -Allow 30 minutes for unpacking, separating & organizing the several numbered hardware packages, & for placing the table pieces aside on a carpeted floor/area where you can see the piece numbers (stickers). -If you have a powered screwdriver, this will take about 1 hour and 10 minutes to assemble. Without a powered screwdriver this will probably take 2 hours, & you will be tired. -The pneumatic assembly hardware is the last thing to go on, starting with the lid. Putting the screws in will be awkward under the secured pneumatic rods. I unscrewed one end of the rod-end to get more access, then re-attached it after finishing; since the rod is under a mild compression when installed, it takes a little effort to re-compress it to re-attach it. Operation: The secure top needs to be raised & lowered with reasonable strength of two hands using equal force or one hand in the very middle, otherwise the lid goes off-center & binds-up.

🚨 $8 RETURN FEE AFTER YOU SPEND HOURS ASSEMBLING IT! 🚨 The biggest frustration wasn’t just the poor quality—it was finding out I had to pay an $8 return fee after wasting over two hours assembling this table. The quality is unbelievably cheap. The finish is poor, the materials feel flimsy, and the overall construction looks nothing like what the photos suggest. Unfortunately, you don’t realize how bad it is until you’re well into the assembly process. After spending more than two hours putting it together, I had to take the entire thing apart again just to return it. Then I was charged an $8 return fee on top of wasting my time. If I had known the actual quality before opening the box, I never would have bought it. Save yourself the frustration, the wasted time, and the return fee. Buy a better-quality table somewhere else.

This table was a pain in my butt LOL One of the holes wasn't even but I'm the doofus that took too long to figure it out. I had to get a drill bit and problem solved. I love it though and for the price it's not a bad little table. I was afraid the color was going to be too dark because I had ordered a microwave stand before in espresso and it looks almost black This table is pretty sturdy as well. I seen a couple of reviews where people said it was scratched up on the corners that they should have protected it better but mine was packed very well

It's a solid coffee table. As far as putting together, we'll I read the reviews and most ppl say it's a bit tough to put together. We'll as long as you don't partake in 420 stuff before you do this lol it's pretty easy to put together. It took me almost 5 hours to put together because I did partake in 420 just b4 I put together wich I don't advise lol. If not for that I would say it would have been together in about 2 hours. Instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow. The only complaint I have is when I open the top part to eat, the top slides out uneven. But it opens, except that uneven stuff I mentioned and closes fine. The uneven stuff don't seem to bother the opening and closing. I would absolutely by this coffee table again. And I love the storage that it has.

Could have better hardware. Half of the plastic locking clips don't lock and line up correctly. If you use the smallest amount of force when screwing they will break off. I broke like 3, luckily this product comes with spares. It doesn't hold. Once you put the main long metal screws in it becomes more solid. Next when installing the top part that raises up 2 of the pre tapped holes in the wood ended up getting stripped out when using the provided self drilling screws. If it wasn't for the 3 other screws to hold it in it wouldn't have worked.

Unit itself is quite nice and strong when built. Building style is similar to ikea stuff. Definitely two people to put together. I had an issue where one of the wood pins pushed too far into a panel, and was too tight to come back out. It just broke when I tried to pull it back out.

Incredible buy, love it, somewhat easy to build, love the storage

First off, this coffee table has excellent storage and will just fit movies like DVD's and Blu-Rays. The design features are well thought out for the price point, and looks attractive enough for most spaces. However, there were a few fitment issues with assembly where some of the holes didn't line up correctly for the screws and anchors. The legs also aren't easily removable, so pulling it apart if you need to move will be similar to building it so keep the instructions. Also, the finish is a finger print magnet so might not be ideal if you have young kids however its heavy enough where they won't be able to move it or have it tip over. Might benefit with some plastic covers at the feet of the legs so it can move around on carpet easier.
