Brute force, a little clunky, but works great
I needed to make just a few connections for an inverter using 2/0 wire. This thing is a little difficult to open and put the cable fitting into due to the tight spring holding it shut, (it would help to have a third hand), but smack it with a hand held sledge hammer several times and it crimps down the connector very nicely. Overall, I cant complain because it saved a lot of money over buying the larger hydraulic crimping tool.

Gets the job done.
I bought this to do some 8awg wire lugs and it gets the job done. I used it about 10 times and am pleased with it. I don't know how it will work on larger size cable and lugs. Inexpensive and works well

Came with a broken pin - even so...
This is a great crimping tool for the money. You lift up the spring-loaded piston, insert your lug, and pound the top of the piston a couple of times with a hammer, repositioning the lug as needed in-between blows. The action end of the piston is split into four points. One of the points on mine was broken off when I received it - faulty casting that created a weak spot probably. I was worried that the sharp end of the broken point would damage the lug. No worries, it works just fine. For occasional crimping of wire lugs, this type of tool can't be beat compared with much more expensive pro tools. If I were a linesman or mechanic, I would invest in the pro tool. I just had to make 4 crimps. This was perfect! 1 star off because of the broken pin. Otherwise good tool and very acceptable.

Great Value For the Price
This tool for the money (plus a hammer) is a great and cheap way to add lugs to large gauge wire. I bought this in a pinch with the intention of crimping 3AWG, 4AWG, and 6AWG ring terminals, and it did a good job. It is more of a flat crimp, but the wire was solid in the crimp and I have no fears it will last. It's certainly not a UL way to get repeatable crimps, and it's sometimes annoying to pull the pin back up to release the wire with the little rod that sticks out the back. But on a firm table, with a good hammer, I was able to do about 5-8 lugs a minute, so it's definitely as fast as any other method. I'd recommend for most jobs which aren't strict on following NEC or UL compliance, but where a solid crimp is good enough.

Bang !!!
this actually works very well. I’ve never had anything to compare it with, but I know that it was a lot cheaper than trying to buy the fancier ones. I’m completely happy with it. Does the job great

Great product, great price!
I had been looking at these for a little while as I was just getting ready to install a fairly powerful sound system in my Suv. I needed to run 1/0 Guage wire and then 4 Guage wire from my Capacitors and lithium battery bank to my 2- 2,000 watt Stinger Amplifiers and 8 Guage to my subs as well. Also 4 guage to my 600 watt 4 channel amp. Had to make quite a few crimps of different Guage wire and once you get the hang of how to use it properly it worked every time. I had zero issues, the spring loaded striker is strong enough to hold your connector securely well being easy enough to pull up on the lever. This is a solid piece of steel so I don't expect it to break, i mean it is made to hit with a hammer after all!!

Good for occasional use to crimp large lugs.
I bough this to crimp some larger 6 gauge Anderson lugs and some battery cables. I bought this one because it can do a range of crimp lug sizes without a large set of complicated dies that the hand hydraulic crimpers need. You have to set the tool on a table put the cable and lug in it and whack it with a hammer a few times so you can't use it to easily replace a terminal while the cable is in an engine or battery compartment for example. But, I was making cables on a bench so this worked well for me and the crimps seemed solid and were holding the wire well. I have not used the included crimp terminal yet but they looked OK, and nice to have on-hand.
