Vintage Styled Inkwell Is Acceptable with Minor Reservations
I use fountain pens as well as dip pens. I also enjoy the old 19th Century vintage look of antiques and reproductions. This one has a fairly large capacity compared to the few individual vintage inkwells I have. I also find dipping the pen and holder into the well is easy enough in regards to size of the opening. I rarely use oblique pens, so can't comment, but think it should work. This reproduction does have the vintage look at a quick glance. Up close one notices the modern thin, super clear glass. The bottom glass has not been thickened to give extra weight so as to help avoid tip-overs. The metal lid has not been thickened either, which would give a more satisfying feel to it, and might help keep the lid closed/tighter -- though my vintage inkwells loose ink to evaporation too.As it is, these criticisms don't prevent this inkpot from being serviceable with normal use. Just remember, ink will evaporate. If you plan on keeping ink in it over the long term, you will want to plan on adding water from time to time, or putting it into a larger airtight container or wrap.

Overpriced, under-made. Lids are useless.
I am not sure I will keep these. I ordered 2, and neither lid closes. They were very overpriced for the product, and theirs are flimsy and thin. They are misaligned, therefore, the hinges poo the bottles open—a major issue when intended for use as an inkwell.

Cap not airtight
good sized Ink well, but works better if you glue a cork under the lid.
