I'm a quilter and I prefer using templates when cutting out blocks for patterns. Purchased these to do just that. I make my templates (including the .25" inch seam allowance) for patterns and use a hole punch to keep all the pieces together with a bit of ribbon (and cardstock stating pattern name & size). Those go into the shoeboxes where I already have a number of block pieces cut out for future quilts. Scraps don't last long before I've cut them up into pre-cut sizes or for specific blocks. When a baby is on the way, someone is going to have surgery, or whatever, I just grab a box and sew quilts from what I have grouped inside. Much easier for me and faster to get the quilt done for the recipient, too. You'd think I'd have quilts already made, but as soon as I finish one a person in need shows up in my life, so I don't have extras just set aside. Using this product speeds up the process for me.
