The Prose Edda - Tales from Norse Mythology Paperback – May 18, 2008

Excellent book, arrived in perfect condition!

This is the one I assign in my mythology classes, as the translation is approachable, the background information sufficient but not given in confusing detail, and the ancillary material is helpful.

Bought for my son and he liked it.

Great translation!!! Read this along side with 'Children of Odin' and 'Volsung Sagas.' You'll get a great picture of Norse Mythology with these three Great Books.

This edition and translation is very good and perfect for a family member who is following the Northern European Heathen Faith.

Despite being a Christian Skald (Poet) and living in Iceland, Snorri Sturluson compiles here the finest record of Norse Mythology. Beginning with a brief introduction about the author, and a prologue which describes the creation according to Christian Tradition, Snorri then documents a fraction of the Norse Myths in a beautiful prose style. Recommended

A little hard to read but similar to the bible in terms of layout
