MGDRS Oboe Cane-Gouged&Shaped (10)

I am in the process of learning how to make my own oboe reeds, so bear in mind that I am not a professional reed maker when I post this.This is Rigotti oboe cane. It is narrower than most cane I have worked with in the past, making closing it sometimes a little difficult. As for how I feel about it, and maybe it is just how I am working with it, but it has a finished feel that feels more like composite board rather than bamboo cane, and it is rather open when completed. That may just be me though. I have had some Rigotti cane in the past that has been fantastic to use and play on, so it might just be this batch as well. With a product like this one, it really comes down to personal preference. Personally, I won't be buying this cane again except for practice.
